I don't think I could ever own a V6 Mustang. if I wanted a rwd V6 i'd get a Genesis Coupe.

hmmm, good to see all the opinions and experiences... to each their own. i think i'll clear a few things up. this was a driver, not a racecar. it was on a few tracks, one dragstrip, ran 3 times, it wasn't set up to drag, it's worst time was 15.01, 3.32 short time, 104.87mph, this was driven by a person who had never driven it before... it ain't fast, but it is quick. i spent alot of time and money on it, i would not do it again. the car is going v8 now, the exhaust noise is probably the reason. and yes it got 32mph, 29 average. yes, it would give a gt a run... never drag raced a s197, they will topend this car... please relax, this wasnt a world beater, only a fun car... on the other note, i wouldn't buy a import, don't care how fast it is. that's my opinion, thanks for your time, have fun with this

Iv owned a v6 mustang and will never go back to another. Plus iv raced my sisters boyfriends 2011 v6 about 10 times and destroyed it every time. The kids a little shit talker and said it would kill my gt...well he's pretty quiet now when he comes over and sees my car in the driveway. I love all mustangs but a v8 is by far the superior car.

So now that the suspension is done it'll no longer have 3.32 60's? What are you expecting, 2.80s?

It's all love.

My soon-to-be 16yo daughter's first car is a V-6. Nice and slow.

Car and Driver took the new 2011 V6 Performance Package Mustang and beat an 2010 Mustang GT at Virginia International Raceway.
Taking the LL1 crown this year and tying the class-record time of 3:12.5 was Ford’s 305-hp V-6 Mustang. We have little doubt that it could have unseated the co–class-champ 2006 Nissan 350Z Track if the Ford hadn’t been equipped with a 114-mph governor, which the car banged into for more than 15 seconds per lap. Yet despite the interference of the electric anchor, the new V-6–powered car still managed to beat last year’s 315-hp V-8 Mustang by 0.8 second.

I'll give credit where it is due, you can go places with a V6 mustang. you can make pretty fast sleeper and take some turns with it. I have considered doing a v6 project on several occasions. the problem is the amount of work it would take to make it run faster than my GT in any aspect.

but as far as the OP and intermitten posts about v6s beating GTs, either this is a story that was blown out of proportion or the other guy could not drive for shit.

even to those guys with then new 3.7. just becouse the guy at the dealership told you it was better then a 05-10 GT does not automatically mean you will win. had 2 guys so far with the 3.7 try to punk me. one race just never materialized, and the other was at the track. but it was never an actual race, he watched me race somebody else and seen the lights light up with 12.9 and then promptly left the track.

and as far as your 104mph trap, not just myself, but many....many...many other guys I know with GTs of varying years would run the hell away from you from a roll.

not to mention that I have a hard time believing you trapped that with a bolt-on only 4.0.

once again I give credit where its due on the 6, I just think its stupid when some guy puts things out of perspective becouse they ran against a bad driver or the car they ran against had some maintenece issue slowing it down.

Dude why did you take it so personal? I just posted a test that was done by car and driver..... And where did I say I could beat a GT on a 1/4 mile strip?
