Forgestars are nice and lightweight, but there have been threads popping up on the vette forums about the wheels developing stress cracks when used for track duty. Turns out they don't do too well with heat

Interesting: I remember years back on the on the BMW boards reading about the load capacity of the forgestar wheels and most where a bit concerned. What was understood at the time is that the wheels where design for light weight cars. I think since then the load capacity has changed.

BTW, I saw you sig and I had some dyno pulls done at Torq some time back. I meet Paul there, he's a really great and knowledge guy.

I was going by price based on what was posted. $1450 is a decent price for a set of wheels if that is the case.
Not much of a fan of the 5 spoke wheel.

The Ebay link he posted includes tires, although I personally wouldn't go with that particular setup because those are cheap tires and rubber bands at that.

elementwheels.com has the stance wheels for 1460 free shipping for the 19" staggered set, and 1600 for the 20" set
They also have the vossens for 2246 free shipping.

My bad guess I should have read the whole listing,LOL
True, now that I'm reading it the tires aren't great and the side wall are to short.

Yeah I hear you..Just to be clear though, Forgestar's aren't actually forged wheels, they are "flow formed"...end result being they are nearly as strong and lightweight as forged wheels at a lower cost then most forged wheels.

I've heard wait times all over the map, but as long as they have the barrels in stock it should only be about 6 weeks.

yea from what i understand they are close to the tsw nurburings being rotary forged and whatnot.

we got told 5-6 weeks. were hoping thats the case bc were excited to get them on the car already

Well apparently the issue wasn't really the load capacity, but rather the manufacturing process. The vettes are hundreds of pounds lighter than the stangs and bimmers and still face the same issues when put to moderate track use.

The guys at Torq are top notch, I've had 23,000 trouble free miles after they did my entire n/a build

It's the RTR splitter, but chopped up and tried to make to fit. I did the same thing a while back before the RTR front was out, with the Roush, didn't work out like I wanted. MRT makes one too, but too big IMHO. I'll look for pics of mine.

*edit* If you pay close attention, the angles in most of his pics are off. That's because the splitter isn't mounted even/center. It is more on the right side than center. The lips dont line up right.

The Roush was $160 and I butchered it up, made it fit, then hit a coyote, lol...

The RTR I have only seen sell with the whole CDC lip front, assuming he cut that whole top part off, no sure, I never saw his build pics. He posts over on SVT. I read his last 200 posts and no where does it mention the process in detail nor show pics of the build, but I may have missed something.

Anyways, back to looking for the one I made.

I like the Stance Wheels. Hopefully I cant get my hands on some soon. With the simplicity of the 05-09 and 10-12 body style, i think they compliment very well and get a mean stance to the entire car itself. I am just having a hard time deciding what color is right for me.

i love vossen wheels (even have them on the mustang) but the CV3 is being overplayed

I only recall seeing about 5 people on this particular forum with vossen wheels. I'd hate to see what you say about saleen replicas, rtrs, and bullitt style wheels. The are great looking wheels and I've yet to see anyone in my area with a set of them on a mustang. I considered buying them if I could get any money out of my current wheel/tire setup.
