While I don't agree with the way Androdz posted the Z info (saying it owns the mustang is just askin for a fight), brand loyalty on any forum is ghey. I don't care if this is a mustang forum, we should be able to talk about other awesome cars in the pit stop area without hearing the slander because it isn't a ford. I am on a few japanese car forums and the people there drool over other brands the same way they do over their own. When they show ghey fanboyism over one brand, I raise the pimp hand. If you really love cars and automotive technology, then you shouldn't sack ride one brand.

On a side note, the 370Z is not competition for the mustang. Very few people looking at a muscle car with seating for 4 are going to consider a 2 door japanese sports car. The mustangs main competition is the Camaro, Charger, and possibly the Challenger or G8. The mustang has a price advantage over all the competition.

It's a nice car, and I thought of buying a 350Z before I bought my S197, but in the end they were too expensive to buy & own, and had no trunk or back seat. Even though the S197 is hardly a practical car, it was much more practical than the 350Z. In a pinch I can get people in the back, and a couple of golf bags, or a decent amount of luggage. Plus, the mustang had a V8, big plus for me.

As far as straight ahead acceleration, I'll race any N/A 350Z or 370Z anytime, any place, without the slightest bit of fear. If they beat me, it ain't going to be by much at all. On the street in daily driving, I'll take a V8 + 4.10s for shits and giggles all day long. The nissan is going feel like a slug below 5000 rpm, whearas I tap the throttle from idle and snap my head back.

Lastly, when you come from the factory at nearly 100hp/L, bolt ons aren't going to yield much at all. The 4.6 has tons of room for improvement and will quickly and easily exceed the hp & crush the torque of the 3.5 or 3.7.

I'm already faster than the 370Z, and with what, an intake and tune!

While I am with you on most everything and the comparasion the greatest + from the vq35 engine is that it has a lift system and it works great. Bolt-ons they get some power but obviously less overhead than us but turbo they are pretty much even. Most twin turbo kits out there put them at 450-500rwhp just like us but they weight 300lbs less. Still not fair to compare a 4 seater vs a 2 seater.
