I went to the dealer and they'll pay off my 07 and give me a 10 with a ford racing blower and 3yr/36k warranty for 31k @ 0% financing.. what do you all think?

Depends on how much you owe on that 07. An 11 5.0 is gonna be just as fast as a 10 with a frpp blower.

I know someone who recently got $20K on his 07 gt trade in for a gt500.

That sounds like a great deal, depending on how much you still owe on the 07.

Sounds like they are eager to get rid of the 10's with the much improved 11's pouring in.

In fact, I imagine people will get getting sick deals on pre-11's in the upcoming months.

If your car is 1/2 paid off, I would say don't take the deal. Your basically paying another 15kish for a blower.

Actually the more I think about it, the WORSE that deal sounds.

Your setting yourself up for 2+ more years of payments, when those payment could be buying a forged block + blowers + LOTS of other mods.

RUN AWAY !

EDIT: Foot in mouth. Thought you were talking about an '11.

It's the whole is it cheaper to keep a car you own or nearly own and put more money into it or buy the newer faster (stock) car and spend the extra money there? Which saves you the most?

Seems like these threads have popped up a lot lately. Should be no surprise I guess.

Seems pretty debatable to me.

well i have 2.5 years left of payments and my warranty is just about done. Which is only reason i'm considering it. 0% is awfully tempting

Id do that for sure, however a base 11 gt with the brake/wheel package would be quite tempting. I prefer the looks over the 10, so for me I'd jump all over it.

they'll only do 0% 36 months on a 11 but 0% 72 months on a '10

swap the frpp for a supershaker and make the deal. i think the 10's look sick with a supershaker.

If it's a GT PREMIUM that is an awesome deal! If it's a non-premium it's an OK deal. FYI ... with a tune and pulley swap you can up the HP/TQ quite a bit ... but invalidated the warranty.

I got 0% for 72 on my 2010 ... which is sweet ... no S/C though!

Here is why I think its a bad deal:

If you take it -- (Lets assume you have paid at least 10K so far)

$10K paid + $31K in new payments = $41K Blown 10' GT.

Keep your car ---

$10K paid + $18k more in payments = $28K stock 07 GT.

$41K - $28K = $13k savings.

Think about all the mods you could do for $13k.

An extra $13k thrown into the 07, and its going to crush that 10'.

Tough one, I kind of like the deal; blower with warranty, newer styling (which has grown on me), far superior interior, 0%.

Will you be fine with that car for the next 6 years though?

What would be the plans for the car? (keep stock, drag racing with cage, etc?)

would be a shop car, but I am weary of extending payments.
