    If it matters the starting isn't intermittent since I changed the FRPS. It starts and stops running after about 20 seconds consistently. I'll order the scanner adapter.

    Thanks for the suggestions. That is why I'm not using that mechanic anymore. I'm the one who replaced the FRPS twice. Both those scanners are about $400 each. I probably won't need those after fixing this problem as I'm at the point where I just want to use my older simpler cars before scanners...
