    I have proven (to myself anyway) that the notchy feel and the grinding IS clutch related. It is the clutch that needs to be warm for proper shifting. Allowing the transmission to grind for shift after shift will wear out the syncros. I have several work arounds, but the only ones that I can...

    I think you just proved that the problem is in the pressure plate/flywheel interface. The Ram clutch acted the same as the original, the bolts backed out. I doubt if locktite or so called proper torqueing will fix it. Ford should acknowledge this and fix it. It could be excessive clearance...
