I was at the NA shootout last year but i was running a blower in the JDM/Saleen class. you might be thinking of Jim III from JDM in his Saleen. i believe hes dial was 11.50 NA that day.
Made it out for only one track day (JDM day) with the Super Streetfighter. everything went great with it. seems to be an all around quality trans. pulled me to a 10.22. with a 1.39 60'. would have prob been atleast 10.0 but i left O/D on
thats true. not sure. maybe you might want to drain the fluid and make sure theirs no metal shavings in there which obviously would be an indication of a much larger problem. Tough to say though w/o actually hearing the noise. hope you get it straightened out
I had something like that when i put in a PI 2800 and 4:30's. not sure the exact RPM but im pretty sure it was around 2500-2800 and my car just wined like a bit*h. it ended up being the gears. Is it coming from the back of the car?

You'll def have a consistent 10 sec car. ill run 10's all day in 90* and high humidity. you'll most likely be around 545-550rwhp just as a break in tune then Jim will tune u up. im @ 580ish (dont remember the exact number) right now & will be getting an all out race tune from Jim to run 9's
