    Need help with wiring.

Thank you very much. That must of come off by accident when I was shoving my arm down there.

    Need help with wiring.

While working on header gaskets, I removed the purge valve. The electrical connection for purge valve is the yellow in the photo. There is a red connection whose wires go into same harness as the purge valve. I have no memory of where this goes to. They are almost same length. Can anyone help...

    Limp mode problems

Check the ground to the MAF. It is on passenger side next to top radiator support. Here is a photo of mine. Disregard wires on left. Those are for aftermarket add ons. They are black wires when stock. These are a different color because the corrosion was where the wire joins the eyelet...

    Should I get a tune?

Correct. The stock tune is actually designed as a compromise between performance, warranty, and emissions. Going to a higher octane tune shifts priority to performance. Edit: I also remember a better throttle response.

    Should I get a tune?

Larger fuel pump and injectors, along with a set of tunes from Lito. Since it is a 05, it is not flex-fuel nor is the ECM set up for different percentages of ethanol. I have 5 stations within a two mile radius that sell E85. Sometimes the ethanol varies. I carry my SCT4 in the car. It has tunes...

    Should I get a tune?

So if I leave a half filled bottle of vodka out on the counter with the cap off, it will absorb water and slowly refill? I’m in Chicago area. We have had E10 since 2000. In 2020, I had electrical short with my gas gauge. I opened up the gas tank. Here is what 12 years of E10 and 3 years of E85...

    Should I get a tune?

For E10 to reach phase separation, a 20 gallon gas tank would have to have over 1.5 cups of water added. E10 actually prevents water buildup in fuel tanks by binding and removing the water. Years ago, people had to manually add alcohol in the form of “Heet” or “Seafoam” to remove water. I used...

Where do you get your plugs?

I get plugs directly from Brisk.

    Header Gaskets

When I was changing spark plugs. I looked into high temp anti-sieze and discovered that copper and aluminum can cause galvanic corrosion over time. It`s best to avoid if possible.

    Header Gaskets

I know a lot of guys like to use sealant on headers. The problem is the headers can easily become 2X as hot as the highest temperatures the sealant is rated for. Also, avoid using copper based products on aluminum. They don’t like each other. I ordered the Kooks aluminum gaskets and if...

    Header Gaskets

One of first things I tried. I was hearing ticking sounds on both sides and thought it was the injectors. There wasn’t a high amount of psi pressure in the exhaust to cause the bubbles. I just turned 70 and not sure I’m up to job. Going to pull one side of wheel well liners to check access.

    Header Gaskets

I ordered Kooks gaskets. They held up great until they were replaced with OEM.

    Header Gaskets

I’m having one of those times where it’s one thing after another. Got my 05 back after having some transmission work done and the car was running like shit. It was throwing two codes, P0196 & P0198. Both banks running rich. Did a lot of searching, and things pointed to upstream O2 sensors...

    Another MAF problem maybe.

Check the ground for the MAF. It is on passenger side on top of front frame next to radiator support. It is part of main wire harness.

    One-Piece Aluminum Driveshaft Vibration

FWIW, check to see if the CV joint articulates freely. I’m in process of replacing mine in a one piece aluminum DS from The Driveshaft Shop.
