What have you done to your mustang today?

I ditched the Nitto G2s and replaced them with Eagle F1 Summer only tires and was amazed. Didn’t know how bad the Nitto’s were until I put on a set of good tires.

Bearing Sizes and Forged Short Block

Perhaps this will be of some help. After assembling the engine I put the stock Ford crank in the Eagle box and parked it on a shelf in my shed. I also put the stock bearings in the Clevite box and put it in with the crank. Here is a pic. of that box.

Bearing Sizes and Forged Short Block

It makes sense that Eagle would sell set of bearings matched to their crank. One stop shopping so to speak. They can order bearings from Clevite (Mahle) and slap their own label on the box. I don’t think Eagle machines the bearings at all. Clevite advertises the H series bearings as hi load...

    Valve Spring problem

The two intact strings are effectively the same length. I do not believe the broken spring is a stock Ford spring. I think it has too many coils. As far as the cams go, the stock Ford cams are a hollow steel shaft with the lobs pressed on. Aftermarket cams are machined from a solid shaft so they...

    Valve Spring problem

I have run 3 different sets of valve springs on my 4.6 3 valve. Stock Ford and two different sets of Comp Cams springs. All 3 sets of springs were basically the same length. The 2 valve, 3 valve and 4 valve engines do not share the same valve springs. You must be sure you purchase valve springs...

    Limp mode problems

I would not say all the connections would go bad at once. They do fail over time. The connection that was carrying the most current when you had that short circuit making sparks certainly could have been damaged. To me, what you describe sounds like voltage drop do to bad connections. I would...

    Limp mode problems

Some or all of the battery cables and or ground straps are probably corroded, loose, faulty or missing. That is the most common cause of voltage drop under load. These vehicles are very sensitive to low voltage.

Sorry. Took me a while to find the old box tops. Yes. Clevite Chamfered 4.6 Main Bearings #MS2259H

    “Clocked” or “twisted” axle

If the axle was square with the chassis when you installed the lowers and relocation brackets then you could be loosing a bushing. The torque boxes on the S197 don’t distort easily so I would not think the chassis is tweaked. Adjustable perches could induce a “yaw” if they are not set the same...

    “Clocked” or “twisted” axle

Do you have the relocation brackets installed correctly? Are the lower control arms attached to the relocation brackets using the same bolt hole on both sides?

2013 Mustang GT oil on plugs issue?

I would also ask what oil are you running?

2013 Mustang GT oil on plugs issue?

All the plugs nasty. I wonder if the PCV system is interdicting oil to the intake manifold.

    GT500 3V Oil Pump Questions...

You are making this harder than it needs to be. You have a new GT 500 pump in hand that will do the job with stellar results. Nobody running that pump has washed the Babbitt off the bearings in their engine. Insufficient oil is known to be a problem for the valve train when the stock oil pump is...

    GT500 3V Oil Pump Questions...

When I built my 3 valve I used the Ford Racing high volume pump that is no longer available from ford. Using Mobile 1 10-30 synthetic in have 100 psi oil pressure at cold idle and when the engine is warmed up it has 30 psi at idle. Having a higher volume of oil is beneficial to the operation of...

What in the actual F would cause this!?!?

With the damage you show to the trigger wheel I would inspect the gear that drives the timing chains very closely. My chains were undamaged but I could feel slop in the gear when wiggling it on the crank snout. That gear is powdered metal and I feared it might come apart so I replaced it with a...
