I had the driveshaft installed and it drives great (feels a wee bit more responsive). With regards to checking the pinion angle, I'll have to reach out to my shop to find out if they did that.
My '07 Shelby GT is still riding on the factory suspension setup which includes 1.5" lowering and...
I'm getting ready to buy the Ford Racing M-4602-MGTA driveshaft and have it installed in my 2007 Shelby GT.
Any reason you guys would advise against it?
I am a 30-year car collector and we're selling my son's '08 Gurney to help him fund his last two years at college.
H281 DAN GURNEY EDITION
While Saleen planned to originally build 300 Dan Gurney Edition Mustangs -- but with the market crash of 2008, only 68 where built across all three colors...
Gents - can you educate me on the benefits of the Shaftmasters piece and if it would make sense for my 5-speed '07 Shelby GT?
Is it the weight and reliability advantages of the 1-piece design? Anything else need to be replaced when the driveshaft is swapped?
I'm considering buying a set of Shelby CS5 wheels (19 x 9.5) for our Saleen Dan Gurney Edition so that we can box the original Saleen wheels (19 x 9, 19 x 10) before they get damaged. The car came with 285 tires (square) and that's what I would put on the CS5's.
You probably know what I have...
We originally put 255/45/17's (square) on the car but the speedometer/odometer calculation with off slightly due to the overall diameter being off by something like 5-6%. So I had to retreat to a 235/55/17 Continental Extreme Contract DWS06 to preserve the correct overall diameter.
While the...
I thought I'd share some information that might be useful for anyone seeking more details on the 14" StopTech Aero brake upgrade kit that came on the Saleen Heritage, Dan Gurney Edition and (I think) Parnelli Jones models -- as I just had to replace the brakes on our Dan Gurney and Saleen quoted...
You could think about the Ford Racing suspension used in the Shelby GT's (1.5" lower, nice balance of cornering and comfort). Not as stiff/nasty as a serious Eibach or Bilstein track setup and you know the parts will fit your car.
Nope -- too much additional effort (especially for those that tend to add/sell cars every other year).
I simply call them what they are: Shelby GT, Saleen Gurney, etc.
My oldest son opted for the Camaro SS (manual) instead of a GT500 -- partially because his girlfriend drives a SS (I nearly had all three of us in pony cars).
