Anyone doing this job is better off yanking the timing cover, dropping the front of the pan and changing out the oil pump with a new Melling pump, a new timing chain set and guides etc. with the new gaskets and phasers.

Three things judge exhaust note. Firing order, stroke and displacement. Yes there are other minor factors, but anyone can tell the sound an old school 302 blindfolded.
The old school 302 and the 4.6 3v have the same firing order so the 3v will sound pretty much like...
