Will '10 GT mufflers fit on an `06 GT?

As the title ask's, will stock `10 Mustang GT mufflers (axleback) fit on an `06 GT?

Have a chance to buy a couple with low miles but unsure if they will fit or if there is an advantage with better sound over stock `06 mufflers.

The sellers claims yes on both questions but I want to be sure.

Yes they will fit, but I don't believe there is a sound difference. Only thing that might be different would be the tips, but even then I'm not sure.

The 05-09 tips are 3 1/2 inches and the 2010's are 4" so they will stick out further; I am pretty sure the bolt pattern is different as well, IIRC I had KR's for the 05-09's arrive by mistake when I ordered them for my 2010 and I tried to bolt them up anyway and they would not work.

Yes they'll interchange just fine. The only difference is the tip length. All mounting points are the same.

I ran '10 Mufflers on my '05 for a couple years.

I really wouldn't bother to buy another set of stock mufflers IMO. You can get a set of good used performance axle backs for solid deals. Unless your stocks are shot and you just love the sound of stock, don't waste your money.

Mine were the '10 GT500 mufflers which are considerably louder. I don't think you'll get any tone change with GT mufflers.

There is a slight sound difference, its a little more deep. My wife's 08 GT is stock except for the 4-inch Ford Racing mufflers and it sounds better than when it had stock mufflers.

Of course performance axle-backs do sound better though.

'11 and newer. In addition to different mounting brackets.
