First full track day - front end push!

I was running Goodyear Supercar G2 takeoffs from later model GT500's for a while. Considering I was usually paying about $150 each for what were basically new tires didn't hurt. But while they were pretty horrible on the street I was surprised how well they worked out on track. Warm and tracks...

I can't understand for the life of me why the PP didn't just come with 10" rims all around.

S550 Mustang Suspension and Powertrain Discussion

250hp just doesn't seem like quite enough to justify the swap. Would like to make 300-350 reliable whp and then would be more interesting. In a perfect world would just use a take-out/salvage motor, tranny, harness, computer, etc. But as said, without aftermarket tuner support it's probably a...

That's half tempting! I was going to bug the FRPP guys about it next year at Carlisle.

S550 Mustang Suspension and Powertrain Discussion

I believe only the rear track is wider, from everything I've read so far. Really hope there's a sane way to retrofit the EB engine in my SVO. Then I could finally make it a reliable/serviceable track car:)

Are Steeda Sports the right spring for me?

I went from the Steeda Sports to the P springs and was happy with the change. Only 1 event on track with each but the car appeared to plow much less with the Motorsport springs. I do not have adjustable sway bars so perhaps this could have been tuned out with a better setup. The car sits...

S550 Mustang Suspension and Powertrain Discussion

Perhaps I missed it but don't see any comments over whether the new platform will handle a wider wheel, particularly up front. The front track width appears identical to the outgoing car at 62.3" yet the rear is 2" wider and the car is 1.5" wider overall. Maybe it's just the wheels they are...

Are Steeda Sports the right spring for me?

In my experience with these springs, at least when using the SVTPP wheels/tires, the axle was off and did require an adjustable PB to correct.

    Different pads front and rear?

Curious, if I am running PFC 08's up front for HPDE's would you also recommend 97's in the rear?

    Torque Arm on an S197

I think it's lowering the rear of the car to any degree opens that can of worms. But what other option would there be to fix the geometry with a 3-link on a lowered car? Most any aftermarket spring is going to lower the car to some degree and then the geometry problem starts (coil-overs aside)...

What shocks and struts to buy?

I have coil-overs on my SVO since the Maximum Motorsport LCA's don't have spring buckets. Plus it is nice not having to use springs designed for the nose-heavier 5.0 cars. But I could certainly do without the harsh ride on the street since that's where I spend most of my time. It also...

What shocks and struts to buy?

What's the advantage of this over good struts and a set of springs for a street/occasional track day car? Seems like there are so many spring and strut/shock options out there now I don't know what I would gain from coilovers. At least at my skill level:)

    Track package stock brake pads?

I have take-off's from a 2012 GT500 and the stock front pads say Ferodo 4448, along with the Brembo logo. I have heard the stock rears are a PFC pad. I did one track event last year at NJMP with the stock front and rear pads and they held up under moderate braking but you could sure smell them...

Cortex Torque Arm Racechrono Track Review

Keep in mind he did ultimately solve his problem with an adjustable UCA and some suspension tuning. No mention of NVH but most reviews I've read have reported significant increase in noise transmitted with aftermarket UCA's containing poly or solid bushings.

God that looks like such a fun track! Did they offer a special discount for late model Mustangs? I've never seen so many on the track at once. Nice job with the off track recovery, looks like it could have gotten a lot worse. Was reading through your earlier posts, I had the exact same...

Cortex Torque Arm Racechrono Track Review

Every track organization I have run with offers approximately 2 hours (120 minutes) of track time PER DAY. Organizations don't schedule track time by # of laps. Based upon your approximate lap times I am suggesting you have little more than one day's worth of actual track experience. I am not...

Cortex Torque Arm Racechrono Track Review

Here goes, my shot at having an intelligent discussion with you. You're lifetime track experience consists of approximately 100 laps on a single course. By your own admission lap times are probably in the 1.40 range. So we can estimate your collective track time at approximately 2 - 2 1/2...
