    I know this is an old thread but had some questions along the same lines. I read the instructions but they are a little vague. I installed the Camber bolt in the upper bolt of the lower part of the strut. BUT I have seen some installs that have used the lower bolt? Also I didnt see that much...

    Grew up in a ford family. Mom's first car was a 69 Mach 1....dad had a 69 Big block firebird, until he drove moms mustang and fell in love. Sold the bird that same year. Older brother's first car was an 83 GLX 5.0....loved riding around in it. He went to the drag strip on the weekends with it...

    Im just not understanding the builder blaming your stock compression on the failure. There are thousands of S197s running around with Twin screw powered motors and stock internals. If the tune is safe and everythings in check. The motor should not pop. Yes crazy things can happen...but to blame...

    I believe that a dealership installed the whipple and installed the tune, but another shop did the dirty work of throwing a rod. Not sure how they popped the motor at the claimed 3400 rpms. The scene from FARRIS BUELER keeps running through my mind :thud:

    I thought the same thing...for about 6 months. Then I missed the loud..in your face sound I had without them. It is raspy..it is loud...but I love it :beerdrink:

    I still would request a build sheet and confirm those are the actual parts going in the motor. Still a weird deal if you ask me. But if the guy is really going to do this...man what a steal
