New Whiteline front and rear sway bar setup

Thank you Vorshlag, that is great info! The SCCA track night was great. Car was much improved, rans over 2 seconds a lap faster, even though it was 95 degrees at the track. The motor and tires weren't happy but the driver was!!! Cant wait to do some more test and tuning.

New Whiteline front and rear sway bar setup

I recently bought a new set of Whiteline front and rear sway bars and was looking for a good starting point to set the bars up. The last track day I went to the car had a horrible push to, even with some throttle coming out of the corner I had a hard time getting the rear end to rotate. Current...

First full track day - front end push!

Had a huge blast! I just wish there were more Seattle-area mustang owners in this section. The only S197 was a Boss 302 and then a couple S550's were at the track (as far as mustangs go) so i didnt really have anyone to bounce ideas off or compare lap times with.

First full track day - front end push!

Thanks for the information. Were you running the 285/40 size mentioned earlier and I'm assuming a square setup? Great looking pictures by the way, very nice and clean setup on the car.

First full track day - front end push!

Relax a little bit. At no point was I expecting my 12 year old daily driven mustang with off the shelf parts being able to run lap times with the brand new vettes and porsches that were in the intermediate group with us. I also realize the best possible track setup is to strip all of the cars...

First full track day - front end push!

I was wondering if the pairing of the ford racing struts with sportline springs was going to give me any issues. I honestly got them in separate deals that i couldn't pass up. Is there a prefered spring/strut combo that people like? I know coil overs are the way to go for track use, but I feel...

First full track day - front end push!

+1 I do appreciate the other suggestions but I always balance out how the mods will effect it on a daily basis. Down the road, maybe when i buy a new Mustang, this one will eventually turn into my track toy.

First full track day - front end push!

These were the few pictures showing some lean in the car. Both of these corners were lower speed, about 50mph, but they were sharp and "high load" situations.

First full track day - front end push!

That would be fantastic! The lockout was really bothering me, especially going into Turn 1 at about 90. I really had to wait until the RPM's were low enough to get the car back into gear. I was giving up a lot of time during the braking zones, messing around with down shifting. A few corners i...

First full track day - front end push!

Thanks Sky Render and Norm! That is great information. Everyone at the track (none driving S197's) was saying that I needed to tighten my rear bar and soften the front, but that is not what the car or my butt was telling me. I really felt like the front end was falling over still too much on the...

First full track day - front end push!

Yeah i know there were a couple corners where the line i was running, was not the preferred one. The long sweeper definitely benefits from a diamond pattern after talking with some of the other drivers and watching other videos.

First full track day - front end push!

What tire size are most people running on the track? 275/40/18? These tires are still pretty new so I got time to spec out my next set.

First full track day - front end push!

Well, just completed my first full track day in the car ( I've done many motorcycle track days at this track) and what a blast it was! Very different feeling going around this track in a car versus a track bike. Car ran really well and felt like I was in the top half of the intermediate group...

    Ford Racing Shorty Headers

Wow, that is a great price for long tubes. I wish they made a catted x-pipe however. I dont want to run an off-road pipe because i have flowmaster outlaw mufflers and im afraid my car will just be too loud for my daily. The youtube clips i have seen, those cars sound awesome but are ridiculously...

    Ford Racing Shorty Headers

More looking for technical reasons why they are no good. Not looking at long tubes, I really don't want to spend 1K on headers and cats since this is my daily. I can pick these up for about $200, I know they don't perform as well as long tubes but they are still better than the stock manifolds.

    Ford Racing Shorty Headers

Does anyone have any experience with the Ford Racing Shorty Headers? Fitment Issues if any? Part # M-9430-S197. I have an opportunity to pick up a set off the local Craigslist for a good price. I don't see them for sale at any of the website so I'm curious why they are discontinued. Thanks.

    GT500 wheels w/ TPMS on a 05 GT

I just picked up a set of 2007 GT500 wheels off CL, and they come with the TPMS sensors attached to the wheels by a metal band around the wheel. I know my 2005 GT doesn't have the sensor or need it. My questions is, Are the sensors plugging some hole underneath them i cant see? I would...

    My 08 Track Car

I love the yellow tire lettering. Is that how you ordered them, or do it yourself? It's something I'm considering to do when i get my new wheels and tires.

    Brembo rebuild with pictures

How has the paint been holding up on your calipers over time? I recently got a used set of brembo's and I'm thinking about doing the same thing. That color looks amazing by the way. Great job!
