As has already been said it is the same basic trans but the ratios are very different. I have heard that the trans in the 5.0 is beefed up a bit to handle the extra power but I can't confirm that.

I get 28mpg on the interstate, and around 29 or 30 on state roads. City is like 17 lol but my overall average is around 22-24
