It was diode P/N YL8Z-10Z912-AA that was bad. There are two in the engine buss, one for the A/C compressor and the other one for the switch chip that recognizes the key.
I did the exact set up about 5 yrs ago (Front/Back) and had no problems whatsoever. The stopping power increased by about 20% and they work like normal OEM. You will need at least 18" wheels.
Just take it apart, take the cables that you need, get rid of the ones you don't need and put it together again. Should work just fine. Let me know how it went.
