Radiator fan turns on only when the AC is on but overheats when is off…

Cycling when A/C is on is an indication that you low speed resistor or the low speed circuit has failed and you have high speed fan only. The cycling is because of high pressure in the A/C compressor that triggers the high speed fan. The low speed fan is supposed to run continuously when A/C...

Radiator fan turns on only when the AC is on but overheats when is off…

Does the fan come on and STAY on when you turn on the A/C? Or does it cycle off and on? Our cars have 2 speed fans.

    wiper motor issue

I don't blame you. I just wanted to show you that OEM's do come with linkage attached. There should be no reason that you can't attach one correctly yourself on an aftermarket one.

    wiper motor issue

Here is a pic of a OEM Ford S197 wiper motor. It comes with the linkage arm attached. https://www.searchfordparts.com/oem-parts/ford-wiper-motor-8r3z17508a?origin=pla&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwzZmwBhD8ARIsAH4v1gUH9k8ugolHKrzACHlLmdlKdV-duyUHydXODVv5wZtyO7Hyuor9JjkaAv1pEALw_wcB

    ported intake

Fuel mileage is a factor of driving habits mostly. I cannot see how porting your intake manifold would improve it. It can add power though as much as 25HP according to reports. But remember more horsepower requires more fuel. Your MAF should be able to compensate for the porting without a tune...

2011 Mustang Engine Rough Iddle/buzzing no power loss, what’s going on?

That code has to do with the VCT variable valve timing system. I am not sure why you replaced the camshaft sensor. Do you have a oil leak like in this picture? That is the oil control valve for the VCT and is the source of the P0023 code. This is a 3.5 ecoboost engine but has the same VCT system...

Anyone had success w/ non motorcraft steering racks on their 2011-14 V6?

What do you mean by "rattly"? if your steering is loose it is probably your tie rod ends. Is your rack throwing codes or something?

Too much upshifting with the automatic

I would recommend you get a tune if you want to wake up your automatic. MPT makes great ones for the 3.7. Shifts are firmer and shift points are much more aggressive.

    Cooling fan failure

Ford does not make cooling fans. They rebrand the fans of others. I personally think that many aftermarket fans are better. The low speed resistor the OEM uses is a joke. I replaced my OEM with one from Amazon and it is quieter and moves more air than my original which was noisy and squeaking...

    Coyote swap exhaust for 05-09

I am pretty sure all S197's are the same underneath. You may need some different mounting points but the chassis is the same.

    K-member clunk

It is more likely the noise is a result of your lowering mods. Why would you think it is the K-member? If it makes you feel better try tightening them with the weight off the suspension. That is how the factory does it.

    A/C Issues 2010 V6 Mustang

Did you clear your codes the first time? Most of the codes seem to have to do with wires. Have you looked over your wiring and fuse blocks for damage? The fuse block under the hood can get damage from overheating wires feeding the fan circuit.

Servicing AC System, could use some help

When the compressor cycles do you hear the high speed radiator fan coming on too? That indicates too high a pressure in the compressor which may be the reason for the cycling. There is pressure switch that shuts down the compressor if it gets too high and it also turns on the high speed fan to...

Servicing AC System, could use some help

Which parts were leaking? I had a leak in my high pressure line from the compressor and replaced the line several years ago and all is still good. Most refrigerants have some oil in them so you have been replacing oil with every fill. Oil also stays mostly in the compressor too so adding oil...

    A/C Issues 2010 V6 Mustang

Does your radiator fan run continuously when the A/C is on? If it doesn't the compressor will cut out from over pressure and the hi speed fan will come on to reduce it and the compressor will come back on. It will keep cycling like that. The solution is fixing your low speed fan. Most likely...

    Aluminum Hood....

Yes it can be stopped and that is what I did. I have been thinking about why the corrosion always starts on the inside edges of the hood and I think it is because the iron contamination came from the crimping machine that folded the top and bottom edges and crimped them together. The jaws must...

    Aluminum Hood....

It was still sealed off from oxygen if it was still corroding. Leaving the bubble on was a mistake. Most start under the edge of the hood and spread to the top. The trick is to remove them before they do. None of the bubbles I removed ever returned. Most of them were smaller than a dime when I...

    Aluminum Hood....

A rock chip will never bubble. Aluminum cannot corrode when exposed to air. That why the corrosion is always sealed in a bubble. Break that bubble and the corrosion stops and never returns. Ford has stated that the problem is from iron contamination under the paint. It has happened to many Ford...
