2009 GT v8 5 speed with 3:31 gears from The factory?

My ‘07 has 3.31 gears and I’m happy with the gas mileage that I get, 26 hwy and 21 city; and it’s plenty quick for me.

    Random High Engine Temp

If you look under the fuses in the fuse box you might find the burned out terminals that power the two fan motor settings. Both of mine were fried and the high temp completely failed.

Do you recommend the OEM Motorcraft plugs. All I have over stock is CAI, long tube headers, hi flow cats, x pipe, Magnflow exhaust and tune adjusted to mods.

If you haven’t heard about the spark plug issues on the 2005-2007 gt’s, there’s a special procedure to remove the old spark plugs. It’s not difficult just takes time and patience. I just removed mine at 62,000 miles and they were stuck at first but after 12 hours of soaking in Seafoam Deep Creep...

Burned out high speed fan connection

To me, in hindsight, moving the relays and fuses to the external relay module was the easiest fix. I didn't do anything about the burned wire connectors in the box. I just cut them off about four inches from the fan pigtail and taped them off securely. I also replaced the fan with a GT 500...

Burned out high speed fan connection

I had a little trouble butt soldering the 10 G wire to the original wires that fed into the fan pigtail. If I had it to do over I would have stripped a little more insulation and wrapped the smaller gauge around the heavier gauge. What I did was shove the strands of each wire into the other...

    Ford Considering an Off-Road Mustang

What is it with these wedding receptions? Last year the son of a buddy of mine got married near San Marcos, Texas, and we drove the mustang. Following the map directions we drive up to a gravel road that went up a hill and into the woods. It was dustier and rougher than I would normally drive...

Heres my option for the door panels on my s197

Those inserts look great! I replaced mine with the Coverlay plastic inserts about six years ago, and I like them, but they aren't soft against your elbow like I'm sure yours are.

Burned out high speed fan connection

Success! Idling in the garage the low speed fan came on when the ac was on and went off when I turned ac off. As it warmed up the low speed came on. After driving around for ten minutes with ac on I pulled into the garage and checked and the high speed setting had kicked in. Thank you again!

Burned out high speed fan connection

I think I can get it done now! Thanks to you and the rest of the S 197 community for your assistance. Hopefully I can get it done and report back in a few days. Getting ready to go out of town until a week from today. Thanks again!

Burned out high speed fan connection

No problem sir. Beggars can’t be choosers! I think I’m starting to understand how it will work. I found a wiring diagram that has the abbreviations LG-VT and DB for the wires from the PCM to the relays. I guess that is a color abbreviation.

Burned out high speed fan connection

I installed the new SVT fan, and I received the dual relays and fuses from Leash, but I have one more question about the gauge of the wire you ran to the fan. I called Dan at American Muscle and he said that it calls for 8 gauge wire but he thought that 10 gauge would work. Do you remember...

Burned out high speed fan connection

I ordered the GT 500 fan and the relays today. I told my buddy who has a 900 HP GT 500 that I'm starting to build my GT into a GT 500 one part at a time.

Burned out high speed fan connection

I have one more question about the GT 500 fan. Do y'all know if the resistors are beefed up on it? I've heard that the resistors on the stock GT fan are also a weak spot. I'm getting ready to order the dual relay set up from Leash Electronics. Still thinking about replacing the fan with the...

Burned out high speed fan connection

Thanks for all the advice fellas. I have some ideas to consider. I’d rather not have this problem crop up again in the middle of West Texas or some other inopportune spot, but the simple fix is more my speed. I really like the clean look of the two new relays though.

Man, that’s above my pay grade. . I don’t have experience with anything but replacing stock stuff, but I guess you didn’t either until you did.

Burned out high speed fan connection

On my 07 GT I have experienced intermittent overheating due to fan connection problem. Took it apart and found burned fuse connector in box under the fuse panel. It’s the high speed fan relay that is effected. Anyone know if Ford sells replacement box or do I need to go to a junk yard?
