2010 Sunset Gold Supercharged Mustang GT

Bump for a fellow Sunset Gold. I wondered about the production of them. 1 of 417 is pretty rare especially when you start factoring in option packages after that. I love the comments that are received about this color. GLWS!

Blank radio display, but stereo still works

Thanks for the ideas and info. I'll try heating up the screen tomorrow, otherwise I'll just try to find a used display at the junkyard probably. My wife said it's actually relaxing not knowing the time and all the info. I obviously don't drive the car much, so it's more of a frustration than...

Blank radio display, but stereo still works

Looks like Ford only charges about $1000 for a display unit. Really??? It just displays information, and doesn't actually do anything! A new stereo head unit would only be around $100 and would actually do things along with displaying info.

Blank radio display, but stereo still works

Well, wouldn't that be nice after a whopping 22k miles. Anyone know if the aftermarket offers any replacement or how much Ford charges for a new display unit?

Blank radio display, but stereo still works

Hey all! Have a 2010 Premium GT without nav. While driving the other day the radio display screen went blank, but the radio still works. I tried disconnecting the battery and checked the fuse, but still no display. Any thoughts? Thanks.

    need help with swaybar

Order them from Ford. They are considered a one time use bolt I believe. I can't remember the thread length or anything like that, but I believe they have a 15mm head on them. You're going to need the tabbed nut too for the opposite end on both of them.

    Marc S SEMA wrap feedback

Ok, that makes a difference then. That may look cool with the graphics over it as well then. Unless the point is to show it off, which would be understandable given the engine.

    Marc S SEMA wrap feedback

The original rendering (even though you denied it) was cool because the design was directly from the WWII P-51s which Roush paid homage to with his P-51 Mustangs. The blacked out hood, chrome look rest with the black and yellow checkered design was cool. If viewed with that mindset it's a...

    Strut & Shock setups

Yep, BMR springs and adjustable shocks of your choice should work fine.

Finally doing LCA on '11 brembo

I wouldn't mess with an adjustable UCA, or any UCA actually, unless you're going to lower it. I installed the LCAs first before my adjustable UCA at stock height and noticed a big difference with the LCAs (with relocation brackets), but nothing noticeable from the drivers seat after the UCA...

    Plugged the Sound Tube

Yeah, bought the Ford master cylinder gasket plug for the firewall. It's $6, fits perfectly and looks like it was there all along. Part # 42098. Here's a post I used to do mine. I just searched 2010 Mustang GT sound tube delete. I just copied and pasted this post from another forum, so I...

    Plugged the Sound Tube

I had the stock intake, so not sure it's the same. But, I used a 1 3/4" plug found in the specialty fasteners section at Lowes. It's supposed to be a cap for furniture feet I believe, but works great with the stock intakes clamp.

    Plugged the Sound Tube

Actually, 2010+ models. It's a cleaner engine compartment, slightly less weight and quiter at some rpms. My wife actually noticed the difference at idle. Well worth the $11. I know what some of you spend on mods and this is even in my wife's words, "well worth it's cost." Think about it...

    Plugged the Sound Tube

Ahh, the GT500 exhaust. What Ford should've put on the Mustang to begin with instead of adding this ridiculous device.

    Mid Mounting Muffler?

The mid-mounted muffler setup is old school. You'll get a great sound from it no matter which one you go with. If I wanted to cutout and weld in a pair of flow through mufflers on my stock pipes I'd definitely do this. With that in mind, anyone have a set of stock catback tubing they have...

    Plugged the Sound Tube

After over 3 yrs of owning my Mustang, I finally plugged the stock intakes sound tube and hole in the firewall. Sounds soooo much better with my PypeBomb exhaust. Now I can just hear the exhaust and not all this other random intake noise. I had no idea how much quiter it would make the...

    GT500 strut mounts vs GT

That might be a bit much, but depending on how hard you corner, you may still get fairly even wear. I only put the 1" springs on mine and it still seems fine. If you actually measure them with a level, you can see why it works. They must just be about a degree or two off of level and they...

    GT500 strut mounts vs GT

Also, remember if you place the arrow on them opposite of what it says to (toward the engine or fender, I can't remember), your camber should still be close enough with a small drop not to abnormally wear the tires. :)

    Painted my strut tower brace

Nice! Matches the engine cover soooo much better.

    PDipping like a BOSS

I did the front strut tower brace last summer and it still looks perfect. Looks just like it was powdercoated. I like the underhood pics you guys did, but you guys should give it a chance on yours and get rid of the only silver under the hood.

What have you done to your mustang today?

Washed her from the winter, changed the oil and installed the swaybars I bought in November. I always forget what a fun car this is.

    Shifter Part P/N question

Did the same to mine and took it to a fab shop. They just drilled it out and put a new stud in for $50. Way cheaper than buying a new assembly from Ford.

    brake flushing

I found that you can just use a pair of needle nose pliers to spin the piston back into the caliper. Worked on the rears of my wife's Mazda at least after breaking a c-clamp trying to push it back in. Don't know if they're exactly the same, but should work.
