If you take to Brenspeed, they are not going to tune it to where it blows up...They tune conservatively so 1) you are happy with the power and 2)so you dont go out and blow it and have their name looking bad.

Not tech.

So, you wanna blow up the 5.0?

Did I read that correctly?

Pretty much

I hope the OP gets surprised and the 5.0 handles the abuse without problem. Otherwise we might be seeing a "my 5.0 just got reposessed since I blew the motor and didn't make payments" thread in the tech section.

I don't know op but he might have the same idea I have. I wanna buy a 5.0 and do the normal mods. Then save up money to buy a new (forged/boost ready) crate engine and essentially turn up the boost/spray on the stock block and have fun 'til she blows. You take a 600hp car to the max and then build it insane once it pops!

What's the point of blowing up a perfectly good engine that's worth thousands of dollars even used? That's just flat dumb thinking. If you want more power than stock will hold, sell the stocker and use money from that to help finance purchase of new forged engine.

You guys are assholes... I mean any time you install apower adder, the engine is on kill mode. Stkjock, you are running 20psi and 800+ horsepower. No matter how well you've built the car it's not going to last forever. Everytime you floor that car and max out boost you've got a chance of detonation. If the guy wants to max out the stock block that's his money and his choice. So the guy's post isn't the most elegant. Who cares...

This "kill mode" is new to me. Is this what the kids are calling it now?

Umm... no.

Plenty of cars add power adders and last for 10's of thousands of miles. Far fewer power adders would be installed if that meant your "engine is on kill mode."
