can anyone help here:

I ordered these sensors off of eBay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/...e=STRK:MEWNX:IT

part number: 9L3T-1A180

The tire shop mounted these on my new rims with my tires, however the car is not recognizing the sensors. I took the car to the dealer and they used their tool to check the sensors and they said none of the 4 sensors responded.

Is there a different tool or procedure i need to follow to get the car to recognize these?

Worst case scenario may have to reuse the sensors on your stock wheels.

Tell the seller that you would like your money back and get the correct TPMS directly from the dealership.

You can also order the sensors and calibration tool directly from American Muscle. That's what I did when I put the new wheels on my car. (AM mounted and balanced the wheels and installed the TPMS before they sent me the wheels.)

You did know you needed a calibration tool, right? It's a little thing that looks like a garage door remote:

You can also get the correct sensor's from Discount Tire Direct. All the 2011's need is the correct sensor's , enough air in the tire's and a short drive, the warning light should then go out..

I thought that, too as I've had several sets of wheels on my '11, but the sensors I got from American Muscle did require the tool to sync. The sensors I got from Latemodel Restoration did not.

According to the part number, and the sensors in the pics in the Ebay auction, those are the correct sensors.

On our 2010 Explorer Sport Trac and my 2011 Mustang Gt you don't need the sync tool. I think Ford changed the sensor type in 2010 models and up.

I've changed my wheels three times and my tires once. Used the same sensors that came on the car every time. These aren't as easy to break as the old style ones are.

Partially correct. They did change them on 2010 and up. Some sensors do require the tool though. My newest ones from AM displayed "TPMS Failure to Read Sensor" in the dash. I had to use the Sync tool. The sensors I got from LRS didn't require it.

The sensors you got from AM probably weren't Ford/Motorcraft? LRS sells the Ford/Motorcraft ones.

The Motorcraft ones must be synced as well. Your Ford dealership uses the same little tool that AM sells on its website. (I watched a tech at my dealer do this after a tire rotation.)

If your car didn't require a re-sync with new sensors, there's something wrong with your TPMS.

Wrong answer here dude. The 2010's and up do not require a sync after rotation. I have a 2010 Explorer and the 2011 GT and have rotated the tires on both with no sync required. Of course both of these vehicles have the factory TPMS sensors and not aftermarket ones.

I bought these sensors from the same vendor on ebay. I bought a TPMS tool from Late Model Restoration and it took about 5 minutes to program. Worked like a charm. I drove my car for a couple of weeks with the light on, because I wasn't sure it would need a reprogram.

Well I did some more research.

Apparently anyone with a 2010 mustang can retrain your ECU with sensors without the tool.

Here is the procedure:
1) Turn the car on.
2) Press the hazard light button 6 times quickly
3) The car will honk to indicate it is in TPMS train mode and the message center will display a message.
4) Start with the drivers side tire and slowly let air out of the tire until the car honks (it will honk when it has registered the drivers side tire)
5) Repeat letting air out of each tire, moving clockwise around the vehicle.
6) Turn car off and remove key
7) Check tire pressure and adjust as needed

New sensors should be reprogrammed

However, I still cant get the car to recognize the sensors. I even purchased the ford TPMS training tool and tried myself. Looks like the sensors I got off of ebay are bad.

Anyone needing sensors get them through your Ford dealer or through AmericanMuscle.com dont go through ebay!!!!
