Not my mustang, but the Silverado that I have.

I have a single 10 sub under the back seat with an amp hooked to it. I don't want to add another sub under the other side and lose all under seat storage. I can however fit a 8" powered sub in the center console.
I was going to use an RCA "Y" for the sub signal from the head unit, and it's self powered. Is this a bad idea or not? Any negatives for adding it?

I think I'm in the same boat as you with my Tacoma, a 10" behind one seat and while it does a good job filling out the bass, it doesn't have that much punch to it. And same as you, I don't want to give up the storage behind the other seat.

Do you have room under your back seat? Besides the bazooka, I've seen enclosures that fit under the seat for just about every truck but the Tacoma. (Taco has storage compartments under the seat)

There is zero room behind the back seats in the Silverado. Enough to mount an amp, but that's it. The rear seat is basically on the back of the cab. I use the under seat storage on the drivers side pretty often. I don't think I can fit another sub box under that side without losing the majority of the space.

I have a downfire box under the passenger side rear seat. The 10" Pioneer downfire sub hooked up to a kicker amp hits pretty hard, but there's always room for more, lol

A rockford fosgate 8" powered sub will fit inside the center console and be totally hidden. Just wondering if I would hear it or notice it.
