Im considering painting my stock bullit wheels black.
Just wondering whats your input on painting them or if anyone has pics of some they have painted.
If i do choose to paint it will be done professionally.

Get them powdercoated black. Best bet by far and will last.

Only a cell phone pic but you can see the rims best in this one. Have the 18 inch stockers, got em professionally powdercoated about 2 years ago now. Cost me $75 a rim.

Yep, depends on how you want them to do it. I just have them powdercoat right over my OEM clearcoat so it has some shine to it but not really a whole lot.

Or are you thinking matte black?

I just used the Duplicolour wheel paint and some clear coat, ended up coming out pretty good. Just gotta clean the wheels really well, and I scuffed them up with some scotchbrite pads to take the paint a little better

How long did that last you? I've painted wheels before on other cars and usually at least in my cases, ended up looking like spit within a year easily.

I was researching the topic and im thinking it might be a good diy project. I really didn't want to spend more then $100.

I've had them for 3.5 years now, and one of those years was through a pretty nasty Canadian winter (before I smartened up and got some snow tires). I think I put a good 3 - 4 coats of clear and that's seemed to have kept them going.
