Bird poop!

So I ordered a spoiler form The Spoiler on Ebay. It came in and lookes great and the install went well. However, today after lunch sometime, a bird crapped right on it (no I don't park around trees, go figure). Anyway, I noticed it when it got home, sprayed some water on it-blotted it up, then sprayed some quick detailer on it- blotted it up. StoreBird crap came riight off, but left a spot where it was that I can't get off. The only thing I've tried so far is to claybar it- no change. 2 questions:
-What's my best course of action here?
-Is this just a weak clearcoat on this spoiler to etch like that in such a short time?

Any help would be greatly appreciated guys!

Yeah, I thought about trying some kind of polishing compound on it this weekend, I'm just surprised that happened after only a few hours of being on the car. It's kinda making me nervous about what I put on it to try and fix it. Seems strange.

i did the exact thing you did though. i used some quick detail and the bird shit acted like sand paper. little dab of compound eased my worries.

The spoiler probably was only painted a short time ago. After my hood was painted it took some time before the clearcoat fully cured and wasn't so soft.

Fair enough, I'll give it a shot. Which compound did you use?

just some Turtle Wax heavy duty compound i had laying around. sounds like you might have something a little more serious though.

I got crapped on by a seagull on my lunchbreak today. All down my white pants and on my chocolate bar I was eating. On a better note, the car is untouched.

Bird shit can and will ruin any paint job. In most cases a super light wet sand and polish is the only fix.

Clean bird shit off immediately whenever you see it, especially on fresh paint. A good wax base however can help prevent any damage.

I carry some instant detailer and microfiber in the trunk just in case of poopy from the sky rats. If I see it I will pull over and soak that bitch till its soft then get it cleaned up. Those fuckers shit battery acid.
