I can't stand people like that. When someone starts talking out their ass i might listen for a few minutes to be polite but i can't take much more than that.

I completely agree. The reason i posted this thread to begin with was to get as much information as I can in regards to the differences in motors, etc so I have some ground to stand on when I confront him about the situation. Didn't want to go in guns blazing fighting ignorance with ignorance.

I'm going to agree with the suggestion (and high likeliness) that your friend is an idiot.

All the parts on my engine came from the Ford Dealer so I must have got the lopy cam option by mistake with the Cobra Jet intake LOL

Yea it highly unlikely someone put a Roadrunner engine in that car and kept the Coyote intake on it.
The Boss engine with a Coyote intake would be slower than a Coyote engine with a Boss intake most likely LOL

So that is where my engine went! I swapped it out for a coyote, couldn't have an engine that was named after a bird and all.

I think if I had swapped a Roadrunner into a GT and decided to sell it, I would probably mention it.

So let me get this straight.. Someone purchased a rare and expensive Boss motor and removed the non Boss 302 from your buds car and installed the Boss motor. Then he removed the Boss's intake, throttle body, valve covers and everything that would make it a boss motor and put it aside. Then he removed ALL the non Boss (standard 5.0) parts from the removed standard 5.0 and spent time reinstalling NON Boss parts on the newly installed Boss motor.

Is this right?

Just checking.:bs:

Like I said, I don't know how he got these "numbers" to trace his motor. I will have to check out the color of his coil covers. I didn't see why,if someone did put a 302 motor in it, put all the time and effort to swap motors and not change over the intake manifold. His car had mods when he bought it such as lowering springs, exhaust, and tint. The only thing I could think of if his car is truly "faster" than others is maybe it had a tune locked to it.

I ran him a couple times, and each time put about half a car on him completely stock but he lost because he "was spinning too much"

Throttle Body is the same as well as the Valve covers. The coil covers are different though.

I don't know of anyone else other than me that has actually done this swap, and my first thought is who gives a fuck, because Boss engines aren't any faster anyway once they both have Boss intakes and good calibrations. If you want to disagree with that, find me an example of a Boss 302 with better ETs than a GT. The car is basically a base GT, so it is on the lightweight end of the spectrum too. They're a lot more durable, and that is a good thing, but faster, fuck no.

As for actually identifying it, easy. Here's the tag on the rear of the driver side cam cover. The only other easy visual clue I can think of at the moment is that the Boss belt tensioner has a steel pulley on it, the GT is plastic.

After being confronted with that I'm sure the shit will get even deeper with stories about how those parts were transferred from the original engine.

The pulley on the alternator is bigger on the Boss as well. Probably not noticeable unless comparing side by side though.
