I used to do a lot of shows with my car. Got tired of not placing in most because of some local mustang club with a bunch of garage queen mustangs kept winning. my car would draw a lot more attention than most out there but when it's judged by them and "friends" in an other GM club it's hard to win.

i go to car shows, not to win, but to hang out. I'm a race oriented car. I'm never going to have the cleanest car, or the mentality that some of these guys have. I've won trophy's before, but i have no idea how. I just go to have a good time and make fun of all the "show cars" with power adders who have no idea of their hp, track times, ect cause they only get started to go to the show and back.

I put my vipertruck in a show a few years back and won the truck category. Two years later I went to put my mustang in the same show and I was told club members are only eligible for the trophies. Lol. It didn't matter to me, I had loads of folks talking to me about my car all nite and had a good time anyway.

I used to be a car judge for C3 corvettes, and little T-Birds. I stopped because of the politics. Some times we would have to wait till certain cars showed up. The part that got me the most is how stupid alot of the people are that go to the shows. They stand their like they know everything, and spread bad info to anyone that will listen. I still go to the shows, to look for parts and see the cars. I leave my car in the parkin lot, and try not to speak to anyone.

OP: I go to a car show every single weekend Saturday and Sunday depending on the weather......That is what I built the car for but I have been to many car shows that have been rigged.....You will find them anywhere.....Matter of fact 2 weekends ago we went to a 2 day event car show and it was the clubs 1st show so.....It ended up being rigged because the cars that won were all stock...Absolutely NO Modified cars what so ever......One of the older Mustangs had rust along the bottom of the doors.....An Opal GT won....and a old Maverick......So you tell me how in the hell they get top 25 out of 138 cars.....But hey maybe I am a sore loser too but I don't go to car shows for all the work that I have put into my car to get beat out by a Rust-Bucket or a Grandma's Grocery Getter......but then again maybe it is a good idea to be friends with the people that are putting the show on....but I don't think that is right....If you can't win a car show fairly with the judging then you don't need to be going to car shows....JMO....
