I have spent the last two hours searching threads but I can't find the answer to these two questions.

1: What does the factory steering column weigh without the steering wheel.

2: What does the dash weigh including all of the under dash brackets.

I need to get a lot of weight out of my car so it's time to go crazy cutting everything out that isn't structural.

The only issue with removing the dash, I can't run STO. If I remove the dash and replace the steering column, I think I will be stuck in GT1. I'm fairly certain that I would get my ass kicked in GT1.

You can lighten it and they should never know. Look at this 2013 CJ build picture.

They're mounting the column to the cage, and then have 4 tabs to mount just the plastic shell of the dash to the cage also. All of that steel structure in the dash goes away.

I do know a certain company whose 3 letter name causes coronaries and flame wars to start here makes a Carbon Fiber dash replacement that they claim saves 75lbs. They also make a carbon fiber trans tunnel that is supposed to save nearly 60.
