question to all u wannabes and real mechanics... i know imma sound like a "noo-b" when i say this but at how many pounds of boost would detination occur with a bone stock motor on 91 octane?..

On your V6 I have seen 8-10lbs do ok on a stock block. Dont go more than that.

On a stock motor your rod or piston will fail at high boost without detnation. They arent strong enough

It is a lot more complicated than just saying "how many pounds of boost". You have to figure in your a/f ratio, your fuel delivery, the amount of timing involved (just to name a few things).

There are a LOT of variables to consider besides just the amount of boost.
