I have a brand new , still in the bags pair of ford valve covers. they have bolts and valve cover gasgets with them as well. plain not chrome or powdercoated

It's more to verify you actually have these. Stock valve covers are pretty unsightly.

maybe not. looks like the new ones are a 10 bolt pattern while the used ones are a 14 bolts pattern. hard to see inside the bag. your 06 should be a 14 bolts which the used ones are the ones that fit.

the new ones are 10 bolt. well one is 10 the other is 9 ? the used ones are 15 and 14 bolt. not sure why one has one less hole.

It really doesn't matter how many holes are in the covers, because your heads should still be drilled and tapped for all of them. I bought a set of covers from Ford racing and thought I screwed up untill I finally got brave enough to just pull one off to see and found that the heads on my 07 were drill for the 14 hole covers even though the factory covers were 10 and 9. Boy, was i relieved. The one thing that is different is the seals for the cam sensors. You may have to buy the early or later ones depending on what size hole is in the covers. They are about $10 apiece from Ford.
