Hello Everyone, can anyone assist with their own experience re installing Steeda G-Trac brace (front) on Mustang GT S197? I’m just checking (before).

Hello Everyone,

It’s Adrian here from the Blue Mountains, way over in Australia. I have a GT California Special 2008 (115000 miles) which is a true joy. Over the past year, I’ve completed two big phases of improvements- mainly focused on tightening up the chassis and reducing body roll. I’ve successfully replaced all control arms, and added Steeda rear torque box brace, Steeda panhard support brace and Steeda strut mount brace (yes, it cleared intake manifold nicely and looks very tidy. All those modest mods have been positive.

OK, with the continued pursuit of a little more ‘tightness’ I have ordered (now delivered) the Steeda G-trac brace (connects to front control arms. It looks great, though when u read two of the reviews on the Steeda site, drivers noted it had added significant vibration when driving at 1-2000 rpm’s.

So, I wonder if this item will increase NVH- if so, I won’t install.

Or, I wondered if the individuals hadn’t installed correctly. Understandable, because there are no instructions and I can’t find a YouTube segment.

Any assistance would be most welcome.

Best regards, Adrian

That’s just a tube or rectangle piece with a bolt & nut on each end to reinforce the K-frame.

I have them on my 05’ GT and put them on all my Mustangs, some even came original with one and I replaced it with a thicker performance version.

I have felt no NVH at all.

The only thing that would cause additional NVH would be an install gone wrong. On an item like this, that would be very hard. Bolts not tightened properly, etc. Honestly with all of the other Suspension mods you have, that should bot be a worry!

Thank you JC. Thank you 86GT351. Very much appreciated. When I completed some more internet investigation, a couple of drivers who have had issues with the Steeda G-Trac brace seem to blame it on wrong bolt torque, or mounts that need updating or aftermarket exhausts (which I do not have) which seem to be touching the brace at certain times. As noted, my experience with the Steeda torque box brace, Steeda Panhard Bar Support Brace and Steeda Strut tower brace has been very positive. Plus I have ordered the Ford Racing Front Lower A-arm Brace- again with the goal of 'tightening' the whole feel. I just want to get this one right, and continue my positive progress on (1) tighter chassis, (2) less body roll while (3) not provoking any additional NVH. As I mentioned earlier, this is a little bit 'obscure' due to lack of instructions and no ("Brian from Steeda") Youtube video for me to watch. Best regards, Adrian
