I have horrible water spots on my car. They are like burned into the clearcoat. I have waxed the car plenty of times and they never change. Is the only way to get them out using a buffer? Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks!!!!!

Yes depending on how bad they are you'll probably need a good DA at a minimum. You can try to clay them first but I suspect that you're dealing with something more harsh. There is water etching bad enough where the clear coat is compromised and the only way to fix it is to wetsand and respray.

if you are washing your car with hard well water, i suggest trying and inline filter/softener, or run a hose from after your softener if you have one. i was having the same issues as you.

If it is because of you washing your car with hard water, why are you leaving the water on it to spot?

Not saying that's what it is, just saying a lot of hard water spots can be avoided.

Not always. I drove my '01 to the golf course for 36 holes. They decided to run the sprinklers at 10:00 am and they weren't confined to the areas to be watered. Spots everywhere. I drove home and immediately performed a complete correction as the water was pretty hard.

But in general, you're correct. :beerchug2:

I bought the car right before winter and the car already had all the spots on it. I planned on waiting for winter to end to get it fixed. So is the best thing for me to do is to have a professional detailer buff the car?

Depends on how much money and time you have. And your ability to learn new skills.
