how big of a job rear end clutches?

hey guys im getting a 1 wheel peel when i go to the track. with my et streets
ive searched around but didnt find alot of info . how big of a job is it to replace the clutch's in these cars ? ive done all my mods on my car so im not afraid to get into it .but i dont have alot of experience with the rear end .
i already bought the clutch kit . so any help would be appreciated .

I've watched it done...looks pretty simple. Do a net search...there are a few videos out.

should not be a problem for you,
remove the wheels/tires,
remove the diff cover, push the axles in to the center of the axle housing, remove the C-Clips, slide the axles out about a foot,
remove the four bolts holding the carrier in place, pry the carrier out, (it should be tight) making sure you keep the bearing races with the proper bearing, remove the small bolt that hold the pin in place,
remove the pin, remove the spring, spider gears, you'll figure out the rest.

you'll need a dead blow hammer to install the carrier back into the housing

Make sure you keep the shim spacers seperated between the the L and R sides of the carrier. They must go back in with the same thickness as they were removed otherwise you will not like the results !

This is important for sure.When the diff finally comes out,because it will be tight,this stuff likes to fall all in one neat little pile,and its hard to tell which parts went on which side.

I have done it without removing the diff. You just need to take your time. Also make sure that you soak the new clutches in the friction modifier. Also there was a write up years ago on a site that told you how to do the job and add an extra steel to firm up the rear. I did this in my 99GT with 400HP/400TQ and it worked. Good luck and make sure everythig stays clean.
