I have a 2011 GT with 155,000 miles and its giving me these codes. I've checked the oil and the level is good and the oil looks clean.
I've tested the VVT solenoids and am getting around 8.4 ohms. I've tested the wiring connectors and am get 11.5 volts. It idles great, it just stumbles when im trying to pick up speed. I geared down to 4th and got in it and its like its falling on its face.
I've read about the timing chains, but im hoping its not internal. Any help would be much appreciated.

1. What codes?
2. When you say you're getting 11.5 volts. Where? (Across the battery terminals? When running?)
3. When did these symptoms start?
4. Have you done any work to the car recently? If so, what?

The codes are P0012 and P0017. I tested the connectors the go to the vvt solenoids and it read 11.5 volts, car not running. And i recently bought the car and the day after the check engine light came on, so its been like that for about 3 weeks. I believe the engine is stock.

From what I have read the first thing to do is to change your oil to the weight recommended for your engine. Oil pressure is what controls the valve timing and low or dirty oil may cause those effects. The previous owner may have put in the wrong oil too. It is worth a try.
