Hello,

I just joined up here, but I'm pretty familiar with the S197 generation. I've owned a few Mustangs in my past and we're looking at buying an 05-09 V6 for my wife soon, which is why I joined.

I'm an autocross racer and former head Technical Inspector (now the Registrar for our club) and I've done lots of different forms of racing competition. The stable right now is a pretty eclectic mix including an old Porsche and a Mazda, and of course my Javelin (you may have seen it in PHR or Grassroots Motorsports).

I'll be in the suspension section if anyone needs me. Also, if you run across a Windveil Blue V6/Auto coupe with cloth, feel free to shoot me a PM, especially if it's in the Pacific Northwest (we're about 2 hours South of Seattle and 1 hour North of Portland).

Thanks,

Michael

Hi Michael,

Have you done any of the Puget Sound area Mustang things? All we have really had lately are dyno days. Another one will be coming up in late June at TMS.

If your wife decides she wants a highly modified 2008 GT/CS let me know. Mine will be going up for sale sometime this summer.

Hope to see you around.

Bruce

Thanks everyone.

@ BruceH: No, we haven't done any Mustang stuff up here. I haven't had one in about 10 years. We're very active in the Oregon Region Porsche Club (ORPCA) where I am the Autocross Registrar, and we do some stuff with the Portland Club Grand Prix (PDXCGP).

Welcome to the forum quite a mix of cars you've got there for sure

Yes, our garage is always quite eclectic and ever-changing. The last five years have seen (in reverse order): 1986 Porsche 944, 1998 Lincoln Mark VIII, 1993 Mazda Miata, 1973 AMC Hornet Coupe, 1991 Plymouth Duster, 1983 Mazda RX-7, 2001 Ford Crown Vic P71 Interceptor, 1996 Nissan King Cab 4x4, 1988 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe, and a 1987 Ford Thunderbird 5.0 Sport. There might have been some others in there, too. I used to do a lot of buy/fix/sell/swap, but slowed down a lot in the last 2-3 years. We'd like to get her a Mustang and then "hold steady" for awhile.

Welcome to the forums Michael.

Really?

Kids are getting expensive, my youngest just started driving. It's time to find a buyer which I think will take awhile. I have to figure out how to market it.

Thanks everyone.

I'm going to organize a dyno day for either late June or early July. It's a good way to meet some of the locals. I'll keep you posted once a date is set. It will take place on a Saturday morning. A good bunch of car enthusiasts usually show up. There is a good showing from the LS crowd too so it's not just Mustangs.

This is from the last one. It was a good time.

Welcome again
