installing a powerhouse d/s in my buddy's 2006 Saleen, rubber boot on d/s is hitting shifter, installed a new adj. uca also and out of adjustment, any ideas where things could be going wrong, pinion angle looks about 2 degrees positive and can't tweak anymore, car is about a 1/4 inch from level, setting here with things in the air

yep it's called a short throw adapter. wouldn't work with my driveshafts (JPC spydershafts now) either.

not sure how you're adjusting the pa...but, imho the car being level doesn't really matter, the rear suspension just needs to be weighted, in other words jackstands under the axle housing

anyway, use your angle finder to determine what the reading is on your ds, and then turn your angle finder to the flange....the difference is all your looking for between the two numbers. (of course you'll have to turn the angle finder 90 degrees and and the "90" will represent "0") Putting the pumpkin nosed down about 2 degrees from from the plane of the ds should work

if the driveshaft plane is like minus 2, then the pinion flange shoule work well at about minus 4

you'll get lots of answers on the proper way to adjust the pa though. fwiw adjusting the pa had little if any effect on ds vibe in my car

i'm sure the techies will object to this, but it worked for me

going through all the v6 swap stuff i found out that if you flip the trans crossmember over it lowers the tail of the trans about 1.5 inches if your buddy was really wanting to keep that peice you could try that but your gonna have to reset all your pinion angles an stuff.

wound up using that trick in my 5.4 swap. thought i was the only one that figured out it was reversible even the exhaust hangers transferred to the other side.
anyway glad you got your issue solved.

hard to belive that Saleen only adjusted the stock shifter and didnt actually do a swap, the cost of the car should have been worth the extra money for the upgrade, either they are just cheap bastards or believe the stock shifter was worth it,

Still got to send kudos out to powerhouse for picking up that phone at 5:00 on a Saturday, damn hard to catch somebody at that time during a week day typically, will definitly check with them for any future upgrades I may plan
