I was wondering if anybody has tried this. I'm afraid to do this and then it look like crap. Opinions on this?

wow that looks awesome. How was the process of painting it and how much sanding was needed? My dad is really good at airbrushing but he lives in nc and im in texas so i would have to send it to him. I think i may just do it myself.

also is that a c&l cai you painted?

painting procedure is the same as any other plastic.
Just get some green brillo and scuff it good.

Yes the C&L was painted as well...because its aluminum
it requires a tad more sanding as it is not as smooth as you would think.
Did primer on it as well....

What kind of primer did you use on the cover? Was it a filler?

I tried it on my radiator cover. WASTED about $50 bucks and had to go buy another OEM cover. DISASTER!!!

It's not as easy as you think to get it looking smooth and reflective. I'd have mine hydrodipped if I was to do it.

I have seen guys attempt this and it turns out terrible.....but then guys like Barricade come along and get me thinking that I too could do it.......I two-toned my wheels two years ago with rattlecans, tape and TONS of patience and they turned out perfect and are still holding up.

From what I've heard from people who did this at home and it turned out good....it's ALL about the primer you use on the plastic.
