This is a ~2.7 ft3 box, was hoping it would tuck in towards the side a little better, but it is hitting the pinch weld behind the seat as seen..

Would that be OK to snip vertically and bend back up onto itself? I only need to take it to the bottom of the seat latch, and it'd only be about 2' of the seam.

I don't race the car, and it's still stock drive train wise, though I do drive like a lunatic.

edit: in case anyone is wondering for their own amusement, it's 2.59 ft2 net, will be ported, is going to be tuned to 35Hz, sub is a Re Audio SRX12D4, amp for the time being is an old RF 400.4, I'm saving some coin for a ~1KW monoblock and will go from there. The stock shaker 1000 sub/amps are sitting in my garage now, they sounded HORRIBLE after upgrading everything else.

Eh, well I chickened out and shortened the box by 1.5". Fits much better.

Hard work finished. Test fit to check sound, sounds GREAT. That stock shaker 1000 was a complete joke compared to this.

Will be carpeting the box and mounting soon, been away for vacation for a few days.

May not even upgrade to the 1KW amp, this already exceeded all my expectations by a large margin.

Chasing down the insane amount of new rattles is going to be time consuming, to say the least!

The Shaker 1000 was not designed for the audiophile in mind. Just for the average joe that thought it was cool.

That is a huge box for the trunk.

Here it is,"finished".

All I'd like to change is maybe an amp with some sort of remote bass control, constantly going through options on the deck to adjust for different songs is annoying. And either disconnect or find some way to substantially improve the door subs.

Painted with Valspar stone texture paint .. won't do that again. I'd give it a 3 on the old durability meter. Primed first and clear coated and it still doesn't do well with things touching it. Oh well live and learn.

Spare tire and everything is back in there but it's not like I can get it out without unbolting the box. But at least it's not sitting in my garage!

And btw, the only thing I actually had to purchase was the paint. Everything else even the mdf is leftovers from other projects. The sub was last in my wife's f150 in a mdf/fiberglass enclosure I built too. The amp is like 10 years old or more now! Just keeps going!
