I've been gaming for years, and played Halo both professionally and competitively at times. I have gone through many many different headsets and headphones over the years, and out of the box Astro's seem to be the best deal. Plus their customer service is literally second to none.

If I were you though, I would consider just purchasing the Astro Mixamp for $130, and then pick up a pair of Steelseries Siberia V2's off Amazon. The V2's can be had for $50 for the white version, and upwards of $80 if you want other colors.

For under $200 you can literally have one of the best overall gaming audio setups around. The Siberia V2's are one of the most comfortable headphones around, and the sound quality if much better than the Astro's. Oh, you'll also need the PC adaptor from Astro as well for $5.

Now, if you got a little more money to blow, I can definitely recommend something better as well. Lol.

I paid near $225 when the X41's first came out. So spending money on quality is a non issue. I picked these up last night just to have something till I can get a new set.

Guys. Do me a favor. If you see anyone clearly cheating, report that shit. The whole blinking invincibility thing is an exploit, as is the hoping around the map from mission to mission. Its real easy to report them. Go to the start menu, online, players, select the player, and report, then select expolits. Its quick and easy and they will most likely get banned. Its one thing to get money to stick it to rockstar, its another thing to purposefully cheat other players in such a way that its impossible to counter.
