Trac loc pin hitting

Installed a new FRPP trac loc and the pin won’t go back in carrier. It’s hitting both axle shafts. Quick google search pull up a couple of threads where the ends of the shafts were hit with a grinder. That was my 1st though but figured I better ask 1st. Thanks for any suggestions

A picture would help… rotate the carrier and see if it happens in both openings. Are you using an old or new pin? Axles have C-clips?

I’ve tried it both ways and it hits both ways. Tried the old pin and it hit too. Axles still have stock C clips. Read a few threads about shims behind the clutch packs/disc..? Something about someone over packing clutch disc…? Dunno, still trying to learn how it’s build lol. Another thread said a guy was going to thin his C clips. Few swipes with the grinder seems like it’d get the job done…just scared to pull the trigger

i just rebuilt my rear end,,,
1. the axles are one side only,, not interchangable.
2. i had to use my mallet to drive the pin past the axle and to push it in the S clip more,,
3 make sure before you do that the bolt hole is inline so when u do smack the pin in ,, the hole is lined up.

and i wouldnt grind anything,, you shouldnt have too,
the shims are correct in the lsd because the spyder gears look correct and not favoring one side and havng any binding

the pin only can go in one way.. the bolt hole end should be in last,, the soild part of the pin goes in first , and again bolt holes need to line up before you drive pin in..

I pulled the axles with screw clamps out, maybe a side effect of the new shaft seals?
