Cedar Falls Raceway in Iowa today. DA was in the +1200 to +1300 range with a mild crosswind.

2011 GT base automatic. Circle D 5C converter, Airaid CAI, Boss intake manifold, Pypes off-road x-pipe, JBA axleback, Mike Rousch (Mid Atlantic Performance) custom tune for the 80% 92 octane / 20% E85 mix that I tend to run. 255/50-16 Mickey Thompson DRs on cheap 16x7 wheels on the back, 99-04 Mustang GT 17s in front. Spare tire taken out but otherwise full weight plus my 240lb self. Factory exhaust manifolds, gears, and driveshaft. Factory suspension with lowering springs and front sway bar disconnected.

60..................1.592
330................4.777
1/8 ET...........7.405
1/8 mph........93.41
1000..............9.670
1/4 ET...........11.578
1/4 mph........118.31

Nice job! Now, do I get a prize for guessing the closest? Click here for a reminder of my guess from your prior thread.

Very solid. IMO I think you would do better with a 28" tire and stock intake with the 3.15 gear. What are your shift points set to with the current setup?

A stock intake combo with very few mods we put together:

Shifting at 7500. It goes through the traps right at 7500 in 3rd (the 3-4 shift is set at 7600). What was the DA for those runs, WBT?

I'll have to double check but should have been around 1,300'.

One thing I forgot to mention, you may bump that shift point up by 100-150 RPM. You are riding the line on the hard limiter at that point but may be worth a little. Also, whereabouts is the converter locking during the run?

I think the car is working very well with what you have. I'd be 100% satisfied with that performance.

Green car was in 950' air.

Looked at your splits compared to his. your 60' is .05 better but that's a 3C vs a 5C so to be expected. The only place you are a bit behind is 60 to 330, he is .075 better. I'm going to attribute that to the stock intake pulling out of the basement better after the 1-2 shift. All of the other splits downtrack are very comparable, no difference larger than .015.

This is almost exactly what I'm going to do with my car. Any regrets on the 5C? I was thinking of going smaller just because it is a daily driver.

No, not really. I was worried about it being too loose before it was installed and it took a couple weeks to get used to it but now I wouldn't trade it. I wanted the maximum performance gain at the track if I was spending all the money and that's what I got. The car went from a 1.93 60-foot to a 1.59 and from a best ET of 12.06 to an 11.57 in similar air.

At around $1500 installed it's certainly not cheap, but after the basic bolt-ons, tune, and tires, I don't think anything can touch it for bang for the buck at the track. EDIT: I should add to this...'other than nitrous' but that should be obvious. If you are keeping the car n/a and have an automatic, this is the answer.

No, I have not. Plenty of Coyote (non-Boss) guys shifting that high. Would I spin it to 7900-8000 like they do? No way! 7500-7600 seems like a happy enough cap for these engines. Thanks for your concern though.

Hey man no worries. I wasn't getting worked up. Lots of people hear 7500rpm and don't realize how well these Coyotes rev without self destructing, lol. Imagine trying to spin a stock pushrod 5.0 to 7500. :thud:
