I've got a little project planned for tomorrow. Hopefully if the weather isn't too bad.

Anyways, I've got a little issue. The path that I walk from my driveway to the hose on the side of the house is killing the grass. I started walking further out and it is beginning to kill it as well. I originally thought it was because I had just transplanted a new piece of sod on the corner. Obviously it's not the issue..

So I purchased a bunch of natural stones that I'm going to use as 'stepping stones'. I'm going to place them in a random style pattern to make it look more natural. I'm going to cut out the sod around the stones and place them so only half of an inch or so is above the surface. It should look pretty nice!

Here is a picture of one of them. My iPhone didn't quite capture the color perfectly, it's close, but the color matches the house perfectly!

Also, originally I was going to use the plastic edging for the planters. As well as all of the way around the house because the house doesn't have gutters. So this will help with 'drainage' of sorts. I think it looks good and you don't have to worry about weed whacking against the house.

I was at Home Depot picking up these stones in the above post. I found these two choices. I'm going to end up ditching the plastic edging at the very least for my front planter and possibly even one of the planters in the rear.

Here are the choices. The first one matches the stone I'm using for the 'path'. However the second choice matches pretty well as well with the stone on the house. It also seems like it will go together cleaner. I think both pictures show how they 'mesh' with the next piece pretty well. What do you think?

I like choice number two. The first one would look more like clumps of dirt rock IMO. I like stone that has a darker color for outdoor stuff. Either one will look better than plastic edging though.

Geez seeing how long it's been to this thread makes me cry. I haven't got a lot of stuff done lately. I'm getting the landscaping done this weekend if all goes to plans.

My Whirlpool washer, which I bought when we moved in and that was 8 months ago, recently broke. It always vibrated a little bit excessive but was told it was normal. Well, it kept getting worse to the point to where we could only put 4 towels in the damn thing. It ended up going completely out. I checked the trap in the front panel and there was a bolt in there and pieces of ball bearings.

Supposedly the whole drums needs to be replaced from my understanding. It costs more than the whole damn washer. So I'm hoping they are going to replace it but I wouldn't doubt them trying to fix the damn thing... The guy is coming tomorrow, they gave me a great window though. 8 AM - 5 PM.... FML

^sucks man. I hate waiting for people to show up like that instead of giving me a time frame of 2-3 hours. My experience with 8-5Pm windows is I sit at home waiting all damn day until they show up at 4:30pm.

Just need the rocks and I need to add another Knockout Rose and might replace the two different plans on the far right.

Getting ready to paint the house in the next month or two. However not sure which route I want to go. What do you guys think? Either keep it something similiar, slightly brighter, it's ridiculously faded right now. The other option is to go a tan, not light not dark, right in the middle. I wish I could find a picture. Either way the trim is going to remain White.

Honestly, I really like the color as it sits, but I'm sure I cannot see the fading in the pics. IF anything, maybe a shade darker. I think a little darker along with the rockwork would look great as well as a nice contrast to the white trim. But if you painted it the same color and just 'freshened it up' that would look great also, as I said I really like the color as is.

Well, after trying 5 different color samples on the house. It's pretty much impossible to get this color. So the choice was decided for us.

I never thought this would be THIS hard. We pick colors that we really like and than we paint them on the house and they look completely different. It's paint and primer in one and I'm always doing two coats to make sure. Never any difference between the two coats and they don't look exactly like the card. There are some tans that come out grey-ish on the house.

It's really, really crazy and frustrating! I've gone through 10 samples, going tomorrow to pick up another 5! Out of the 10 we've already tried, there were only two colors we like.

What the current plan is to do a tan color for the house, than a light creme color for the trim, and a brown on the doors including the garage door. I've seen this done before, the brown on the garage doors, and it looks amazing. Almost emulating the high end wood garage doors. It's a really nice contrast.
