x2 I won't use anything else.
zaino was decent years ago. Its old hat and lumped into bandwagon products now.

Problem with zaino cars is they push z5 so much, you look at them at shows. All spider scratched.

I've never had a problem with zaino. Their glass polish is the absolute best product for glass I've ever used.

I also like the AIO All in one. Easier to use and works very well

Just plenty better out there for cheaper which does not require a system.

Zaino is lumped into the same category as Bose. Overpriced and over hyped.

Don't do it in that order!
Wash it first, then clay it, then wash it again to get rid of any clay lube residue. Then wax it.

If you clay it first, you're essentially going to be rubbing any dirt that's on the paint around, causing more swirls. Even in a garage kept car, dust can settle onto paint.

Ideally, a car should be completely dust- and dirt-free before you ever actually touch it. It's always easier to prevent swirling than to polish it out.

well, sorry i didnt specify..lol, thats what i was gonig to do, wash, clay, wash, wax... thanks though! have to get on this shit! thanks again guys!

Added another coat of Lava today! It was much nicer as the weather was much better! Instead of trying to put the applicator into the jar I used my fingers to scoop it and spread it on my CSS Red wax applicator pad. It worked out much, much better! The only thing I don't like about Lava is from my experience it doesn't haze very much compared to some other waxes although it could be my lighting. I really need to add more lighting... Sigh...

You went to the CG website, read the whole article about Lava? It explains it pretty well. What kind of info are you looking for?

As said before, it has fillers but no abrasives, as well as it is a synthetic wax (contains silicones and carnauba) tested to surface temps up to 300F.

Lay down 2 coats of Black Light first, let them cure, then lay down coats of Lava. Use the V7 Spray Sealant after every few washes as well. Protection should last many many months depending on weather conditions.

After reading this thread last night I ordered the citris wash, black light, lava, and v7. How long should I wait between coats? And how long should I wait to let black light cure before I start applying lava?

Depends on how your car is stored and the weather conditions. I usually wait 30 mins between coats of blacklight and I let lava sit a few hours before removal

My process:

Coat of Black Light.. Wait 20-30 minutes... another coat of Black Light...wait a day... coat of Lava, wait 30-45 minutes, buff it off...wait 2-3 hours, another coat of Lava.

Next wash, apply V07. Once you apply Lava over Black Light you should not apply Black Light anymore unless you strip the protection completely. Black Light needs a bare surface.

I was told by CG to apply jet seal 109 then black light and then lava. Any pros or cons about that method.

IMO Jet Seal is basically a more durable version of Black Light minus the fillers. I personally do not see anything wrong with their recommendation. I don't see a need for Jet Seal though with a few coats of black light, then a few of lava, then V07. I see this as CG just trying to sell more product.

Another question for the detailing gurus on different waxes. According to CG their 5050 wax is great for dark color cars and LAVA is great for all colors. I have a vista blue car which wax would you guys recommend and I would like to sway under $100 and I will be using it with black light.

Don't buy into the hype about wax for certain colors, you are waxing clear coat, not the actual paint.

Now that being said, some waxes have different properties that show off the lines of a car in different ways depending on their color.

I'd stick with Lava over 50/50. Celeste Detagglio is very nice as well, but its $175. Another non-CG recommendation in that price range is Zymol Glasur.
