UGH!!!!

Just got tuned by Dyno Joe on Saturday. Top notch guy, and invites a lot of interaction during the session. He went the extra mile to work out some kinks in the A/F ratio too.

Dyno Joe Performance is located at Shepard and 17th.

BIG:tdown:

Fastlane!

PM for details.

"Joe'd LOL LMAO!!!!!!!!!"

That's because all the other places were busy working instead of just hanging out on the computer.He was probably trolling for a new victim."

Very true of those that ARE still open in this area!!!!

You know what they say about stray dogs. Jim Jr. just got another one at his door. God bless him for having a big heart.

HOME.......big sigh...

Is that why you're here? You're a Nazi looking for a home?

No home for me.....I wonder the lands with accient technology of a once striving nation of pushrod motors in the small cavity behind my weary eyes that I call a mind.

The thoughts that I ponder of 600 cubic inch 1200 hp 8k rpm freaks of nature could rival the thoughts of financial rescue for the "Big 3".

I try to keep to myself but when I can no longer accept that a poor soul could be led a stray, then it is time for my battered soul and withered body to make an appearance once again to attempt the salvation of at least one of the "Blue Oval" loyal.

:wtf::wtf:

Man sometimes I get lost in my own BS. LOL!!!

Take Houston Performance off your list. The only reason you would want to use them, is if you want to throw money in the toilet. Because, after they are done, you will have to go somewhere else for another shop to fix their tunes and mechanical work.

I have dealt with PSI Motorosports on numerous tunes and mechanical fixes (originally performed by Houston Performance) and he was able to fix both. PSI is my choice.

I have heard too many stories about Joe, be careful with him. As for the others ... no opinion.

Appointment

Thanks. I'm in Clear Lake, so Fastlane is a hike, but they had (note: HAD) some good communication when I talked to them. Now that I want to schedule an appointment, I can't get them to call me back. WTF?

I didn't start the thread, but thanks to everyone for their opinions anyway, since I'm looking for a new shop right now.

PM me.

I'll get you in.

Mouth full....

Black Tooth - I have nothing to gain or lose by suggesting DJ to the OP. You, on the other hand, sound like a competitor of his. You don't know where his shop is, don't know that he owns a Mustang dyno, and don't know about his staff. So upon what do you base your opinions?

I based my opinion of Joe on what I observed. And having done this for 25 years and knowing more than most of the punks (generally speaking, not anyone in particular) on any given internet forum combined, my opinion is based on fact and experience.

Based on MY experience with Joe so far, here is what I have observed first hand:

The shop is very clean and professional looking;

The dyno, dyno electronics, and dyno computer are well maintained;

I arrived on time and, despite other cars needing attention, Joe had my car on the dyno on time;

Joe invited questions and comments about what I wanted, and allowed me to observe the dyno runs;

Joe sat down with me and looked at the readouts, including a/f readings, asked for my input, and explained what he was shooting for and what remained to be done;

I watched Joe methodically chase down an a/f ratio problem using sound reasoning and methods, which ultimately fixed the issue;

Joe spent extra time and worked late with my car because I (not he) decided to tweak a few more things on the a/f ratio.

All I can say is that based on MY EXPERIENCE with Dyno Joe, I am pleased with the customer service and the tuning results. I can understand that not everyone will have the same opinion. In fact, there's not a tuner in this city who doesn't have a ton of former, pissed off customers. MTI, Slaters, Strictly, PSI - I've heard horror stories about all of them. It's part of the game and we all know that. I went to Joe because the shop I'd been using for 5 years doesn't know how to return calls or install gears without gear whine. But I'm not going to talk trash about them on the internet all day because I'm mad.

If you don't like Joe because of your first hand experience, fine. My experience is otherwise as stated above. And I'm very happy with Joe unless my experience changes. I know much more than the average person about hotrodding, and I am very critical of how most people handle my cars. I've not seen anything with Joe that set off any alarms in my head. Perhaps things have changed since you knew him.

First of all....there is limit to the BS that one can post and I usually push that.

Secondly, are you new to this????

And finally, wait till he changes the weight and load of the Dyno to give you the big numbers that your waiting to see.

For example: 2006 GT base Saleen kit will thow down 345 to 355 legit! Yet it will leave his dyno, or should I say a Dyno borrowed by said person, making over 400 because a vacuum line routing change.

WHATEV!!!!!!!!:roflmao:

Big Deal

I know 2 things about Dyno Joe.

1. He took a gt500 added a 3.4 Whipple and propelled it into the high 11's:roflmao:This was in a mag a few months back, either 5.0 or MM&FF.
2. He was offering to gap HTO's that he sold so I ordered a set gapped at .32. They came in a bubble mailer gapped at .28:wtf: I did not use them and his responce was what do you want me to do. Dyno Joe:ftard:

Anyone can bolt on power to these TURDS!

0.028" would be the correct gap that you are trying to diss on. 0.280" would be one hell of an engineering feet! Flame travel starts at 0.100". Maybe DJ is on to something.....nah!

Your right, he does not always get it right the first time, but he does eventually, normally at his cost - not mine :) Lots of respect for someone who values his work.
