Make sure you download the instructions from N2MB, because the wire colors you tap into do vary for different year cars, but the concept is the same as I have posted.

This thing is awesome, however mine is doing something weird....the launch control thingy won't work unless I turn my TPS setting down to 2.5. Is that normal???? When I left it at 3.0 it wouldn't engage at all. Bad TPS sensor???

Also discovered that WOT shifting into 2nd leaves REALLY long DARK black stripes down the road. Almost took a picture I was so shocked, lol. Launch control feature seems kinda scary to me. The one time I got it to work (my TPS is all over the place apparently) it just blew the tires off, and I only had it set to 2,500 rpms. I think I need more time to fiddle with it. Whats everybody else launching at?

Hell yeah! Now I can attempt this install.

I guess I'm kinda like you in that I can do pretty much anything with a wrench, but wiring up a relay is like rocket science. I installed my WOT box tonight and its actually not that hard. One tip that I haven't seen posted in other DYI write-ups.........after you disconnect the 3 large PCM connecters (the ones that latch on) follow the harness back to where it attached along the upper fender and detach it from its plastic snaps. Then you can pull the harness almost all the way up out of the engine bay which makes soldering those little pesky wires way easier. Also, when they say to poke a hole in the rubber boot thing to run the wires, I would just cut a slit, when I poked a hole with a screwdriver I was under the dash using every explanative in the book trying to fish those stupid wires through. Finally just snipped a medium sized hole and ran em through. Still sealed up just fine. Do yourself a favor and go buy a variety pack of shrink tubing. The supplied shrink tubing is too big. good luck.

A couple questions if anyone can answer, just got mine in today.

In the software, under launch control, what is alternate rpm and lockout rpm for?

Under no lift shift, should it be auto or what time/tps threshold is good?

Leave the time threshold to auto unless u know what you are doing. I left it to auto and it shifts plenty fast for me. In the software, I believe the alternate RPM is if you are running a transbrake for an automatic trans, again, leave that alone unless you have one.

Most people stick with auto, you may be faster or slower on a shift and it's almost impossible to count milliseconds for humans.

Let's say you set it to 500ms and you kicked the clutch and released it in 300ms you would still have to wait the other 200ms for the power to come back on. It's going to wait 500ms no matter what you do if you set it manually.

Auto is as fast or as slow as you kick it down to the lowest setting so you won't make it go any faster setting it manually.

Thanks for the replies, appreciate it. Anyone know what the lockout rpm is for under launch control?

Update:

After all the reading I have done...I was concerned that my WOTBOX would destroy / clog / wad up my catalytic converter material, so I decided to pull them this last weekend for inspection after having been used with the WOTBOX for a little while.

I would normally post pics or video, but we are talking about looking into the innerds of Magnaflow high-flow spun metallic substrate cats...and as they are no longer new, they are rather dark, so there would not be much to see...so I'll describe what I found and my "upgrades", LOL.

The bottom line is that the epic win that is the power of the N2MB WOTBOX did indeed loosen up the bonding between the driver's side cat outer shell and the inner substrate such that the inner cat material could slide forward and aft inside the cat.

The passenger side was still fully intact.

I decided that my best solution would be to turn my existing setup into a catless setup...so as to avoid the danger of clogged cats and potentially blowing my engine.

So...I used a very long ~ 1/2" diameter masonry drillbit in my Makita hammer drill and drilled many holes through the substrate. Then I used a 3 foot long 3/4" cast iron pipe and pushed it through the middle. I used a small (foot long or so) pry bar to pull the outer periphery material toward the center and then repeated the pipe trick. I also used some very long needle-nose pliers to reach in and grab substrate. It took me quite a while...perhaps 2 hours (an hour each) to get them both completely cleaned out.

Since I have decided to keep this midpipe setup permanently, I ditched the ClampCo clamps that were holding my modified "legs" to my cats and I went ahead and welded everything up.

This setup still clamps via ClampCo T-Bolt clamps to my Mac Prochamber, and the other end still has the flared ends that mate to my Mac long-tubes.

I will no longer have to worry about my cats causing a failure. If anyone ever does this mod...(err, destruction) wear quality dust mask (mine is rubber with charcoal filters)...don't just use a dust mask...as the stuff that comes out is a fine powder and I would assume it is rather nasty stuff. I also wore full goggles for eye protection.

So...the car is slightly louder, but not much to be honest. It has a throatier tone now, and - dare I say - I think it might even drone a bit less.

As a refresher, here is what my setup looks like. Again...the T-Bolt clamps are gone and welds are where the clamps once resided:

^^^Its a really easy install plus if you race your car a good amount it is a must since you will be more consistent on your launches. The wot box alone improved my times by 3 tenths and will probably get a little better next season once i adjust my suspension. Oh and launching on boost feels pretty awesome :thumb2:

Nice write up.

Got one from Greg back in June and I need to find it and get it installed I guess. I hear good things about it atleast.

Installed mine a couple weeks ago and I'm now sad that I have to wait until spring for the track to open. It builds over 4lbs of boost with the limiter set at 4000 and the 2-3 powershift is usually followed by a momentary loss of control with my inadequate stock tires on the street.

That is awesome. Because racecar!

I like the violence of the two-step launch!

LOL@ your jiggling of the stick after you pop it into neutral after your run.

LOL @ the momentary loss. Mine does that too sometimes.
