Yup, that is what I thought it was also. Johnny Lightning seen it and told him it was an axle, but I told Chelo that it is very rarely that these axles break due to the stock ones being 31 spline hardened shafts. My money is on a busted ring or pinion gear, (probably both). Especially since he says it will spin about a half turn then lock up in first gear. Then in reverse it does the same, spin a little then lock up. That is what happened to me, and I broke my rear about 4 different times in this car.

same thing happened to me on saturday...except it was a little more damage...my eaton posi basically exploded and shot the pinion shaft through the housing

Damn. The pinion turned queer and ate itself from the looks of it. Took out both shafts during the process. Is the ring gear trashed as well? I think I can see some damage to it.

the rear is completely toast only the axles were salvagable just got done swaping out rears ready to go for sunday!!!!!!!!! lets see how long this one last.
