well you know what I was thinking about tonight. Is that my harness has the plug for it already cause the harness I am using came out of a GT500 with the ambient lighting. So I won't know for sure if it's gonna work on a GT harness with just the empty plug there... I wish I would have thought about that before. I am going to install this one into another car now.

didn't the GTs have an ambient light option too ? I know my pal's Bullitt does.

Yes they did. However, they didn't offer it until later in years. I know my 05 GT had an extra harness in the console that I only assumed later was for the ambient lighting. However, I don't want to tell someone that an ambient lit cup holder will work in their non-ambient lit option car.

I'm saying it will work with my harness cause my harness is not a GT harness. My harness is a GT500 harness from a car with the ambient lighting so I know it will work in my, but it "may" not work in a GT without. That's all I am saying.

Ya it probably won't since they didn't offer ambient lighting until 2008 models
