Not only did you change my quote you haven't really told us how fast you can get your stang down the 1/4.
I did change your quote, that was the point.

I can't tell you how fast as I haven't taken it to the track yet and haven't been able 2 for the past 3 months do to me living in wisconsin and us having snow.

When the weather gets nicer I still will not take it to the track until I have at least 5000 miles on the vehicle as I believe in a break in period

Just so you know, the "break-in period" for your motor is done well under 1000 miles, and some even argue right off the showrrom floor when you pick up the vehicle and are test driving it, its all ready broken in. This is not 1960. Tolerances are tighter, the cylinders and ringlands, pistons and valtrain are much better than the motors of the past. Your motor is already broken in. Sorry to break the news to you. Now go and beat on your car, or dont. But driving your car like an 80 year old for the first 10k miles is also not good for the motor either. some argue that yo do more harm than good. Why do you think most serious tuners drive there cars directly to a dyno to break in there cars right on the rollers? Its not uncommon.

I don't think you realize that when you changed my quote you also insulted alot of forum members except now it looks like I did it.

I don't understand why you would insult people who have autos. With a 2011 GT it's the best transmission for drag racing.

Its subjective. again, auto's take no skill, but with a skilled driver you can out shift a 2011 auto 5.0. Autos are for 6 second cars and retired old farts. Also, whats the fun in just mashing the throttle? Who the hell dosnt want to actually drive their car?

Gotta agree with Bruce. Evolution ran in the 8's with a C4 auto. But I'd rather drive a manual.

Thats not the argument, the argument was the factory auto. the C4 is a 3 speed auto, not 6 speed. Just becuase one shop has done it in an auto, dosnt mean it cant be done with the manual. Race seaon is right around the corner. Like i said, autos are for all out drag racing cars running 6 seconds or 80 year olds. anything in between are those too lazy to shift, or those not skilled enough to do so fast enough. You know, there use to be a time where being a "driver" and lining em up to see what youve got ment something. now a days it not skill. Its too old people racing to the bathroom.

and I hit a 12.02 @ 116 in the 1/4 mi, an auto 5.0 that was there the same night ran a 12.8 @ 114. don't give me that crap about auto is better than manual...a better driver can get a manual to be faster than an auto.

and autos are for BRACKET RACING, for the consistency...not because they are faster.

I've seen two 5.0 stangs at the strip. One a manual with 3.73 gears and a tune (395rwhp) with a very good driver. It ran 12.7 at 113. The other was an auto with cai and a tune by the same tuner. 12.3 at 114 all day long. If I was to get a 2011 GT it would be an auto. There are too many problems with the manual in it's current form for me.

Anyway this whole thing started when I suggested lemon law and get an auto. It was just a suggestion and not an end all statement, certainly not meant to start a chest thumping internet argument.

Good luck with Ford and your transmission.

That's a great time. What have you done to the car?

Fucking china junk. I bleed ford blue, I have loss sleep over the thought of them using a chinesse trans in a mustang.... I hope Ford sees you get what you pay for and the money they saved over tremec is now being spent of warranty and replacements.
I hope they can admit their mistake and go back to tremec or develop their own trans

Ford should of used the TR6060 from the outset of the s197 IMO. The difference between it and the stock 3650 my car came with is big.

I understand all this, its not the break in of the engine I am concerned with, it's the clutch break in period. I do not drive my car like a granny but im not constantly at redline either, to me break in consisted of alternating rpms, speed, etc.

500 miles is a good break in for a clutch. When you get some clear roads have fun.

Break in for a clutch is 500 miles. And thats only for "launching" the car. If your already in motion go ahead and have some fun.

He's the guy some people have drive their car when they are trying to see if it's them or the car. He owns and drives a 10.x turbo fox body. I thought 12.7 on the factory rubber was pretty good but I'm easily impressed. lol. The 12.3 auto really impressed me for just having a tune and cai.

I'd really like to know what Jon has done to his car. 12.02 @ 116 without a power adder is really impressive. I wonder if the 12.8 auto he mentioned had the same mods as him? The two 5.0's I saw were pretty close mod wise.

I did catch a video of a forum member with a mostly stock 5.0 auto running drag radials, 125 shot of nitrous, 3.73's, and a tune doing 10.74 @ 125. Once again I'm impressed.
