when you can format your email address for me I'll send you the TSB

I'm not in the habit of posting my email address on a public forum. I posted it that way so that someone cannot search my personal address. Sorry if you thought I was being funny. I thought you would be able to understand it. I'll pm it to you.

Does anyone know why, on the TSB 11-11-11, they list 4 part numbers for the solenoids, but only talk about replacing 3 solenoids?

"2. Replace the three (3) normally high solenoids.
Line pressure control (LPC), C35R Direct
Clutch (SSB) and the C456 Overdrive-Low
Reverse (SSD) solenoids. Refer to WSM,
Section 307-01B."

"AL3Z-7G383-K Shift Solenoid (Band 2)
AL3Z-7G383-L Shift Solenoid (Band 3)
AL3Z-7G383-M Shift Solenoid (Band 4)
AL3Z-7G383-N Shift Solenoid (Band 5)"

You plan on doing the replacement yourself?

Yes. It looks like it's a pretty straight forward job.

Drop the pan and filter, drop the "valve body", remove old solenoids, insert new solenoids, and then reinstall the parts.

I was considering the same. Either I do it myself or I go through the trouble of returning to stock and let them do it. Would I have to deal with transfluid doing it myself?

Ok, I just had my question answered on another site.

I'll post it here for anyone else that didn't understand the TSB (like me).

There are 4 different "band" numbers on the solenoids. You need to replace the three mentioned in the TSB, but you could have any combination of those four different solenoids, including having 2 or more of the same "band" in your Main Control (valve body).

The Pro Tip is to drop the pan and MC, then remove the three solenoids that need replacing and get the band numbers off them. The new solenoids need to go back into the same holes the old ones came out of. Don't mix the bands...

Yes, the car will be laid up for a while if you don't have a box of them on the shelf or if your local dealer doesn't have them in stock.

Thanks to Chuck@Evolution for answering this for me on another board! ;)

So there are March cars, thanks. I didn't think they had any until April.

My '12 was built on February 4th, 2011. It was one of the first down the line. I called Ford and best they can figure it was in the first 50. I don't know of anybody that's taken delivery of theirs before me, either! (date in sig)

I am happy about 11-10-17 as my GT does this something fierce. It's pretty embarrassing driving around in multi-level parking lots as it goes GRONK every time I hit an incline or decline, and every. single. speed. bump.

As a follow-up, I had TSB 11-07-08 performed (gronky front control arms), and had both arms replaced under warranty.

The noise is GONE! For now. We'll see how they fare down the road.

FYI, Freedom Ford in Norfolk is who did the work. Somewhat impersonal, but otherwise great service.

I'm taking my car in on Tuesday for this exact issue. I will post up my experiences. This appears to be quite an involved repair...

So the dealer couldn't get my car to make the noise. It seems to come and go, so I guess I'm just going to wait until it either does it all the time or the motor blows up. Whatever, I still have 40K left on my warranty.

I have the 2011-2012 rear brake squeal on my car and would like to do the TSB myself instead of letting the dealership doing it.
Does anyone have a how-to with pics on how to replace the updated caliper clips?
