Just stumbled upon this:

http://www.torquenews.com/106/2015-ford-mustang-might-be-300lbs-heavier-and-would-be-shocking

BTW, I went into my local Ford dealer during lunch to see about ordering and they didn't seem to know their ass from a hole in the ground and didn't really seem to give a shit that I was interested. First I had to hunt for a salesman. He didn't know what the fuck to do. Then he goes to find the inventory manager and escorts me to his office. As he sits back in his chair (no Hi how ya doing? no handshake) was like "well yeah...we can take your order today, but all its going to do is sit here in a pile, we can't do anything with it right now". I was like, wow. Ok. Have a nice day. Needless to say I will go somewhere else where people actually give a damn and want a sale. Just wow. So much has changed since a mega investment group purchased what was once a family owned dealer for decades. They put over 7 million in renovations to this dealership which was nothing more than putting lipstick on a pig IMO. Customer relations suck ass. And I have already had experience with service relations that just suck ass. This dealer was so much more customer oriented when it was family owned. Now its like you should be kissing their ass. Really? No thanks. Oh well,,, going to call around and see who wants my business today.

That article is still based on what Steeda had to say, which supposedly they've now taken down?

It sounds like a retract but The amount of heat that guy got and threats from ford would make anyone pee their pants. It had to gain weight or ford would have corrected it by now.

Maybe Don_w was onto something.

He is right about your order sitting there until scheduling begins, but the way he said it wasn't mindful at all. Wish you were closer bud as I'd jump at the chance to sell you a car... and I would take your Harley in on trade.

Interestingly Steeda, which dropped the news about weight, clarified its standpoint today, saying "those figures are based solely on their best guess – meaning that this weight increase for the S550 Mustang is anything but official."

I, for one, will wait and see what the final numbers are.

Same as with the HP/TQ numbers that they're still effing around with

Hi Gabe,

Take a look at my previous post about Steda clarifying ts standpoint today.

Meanwhile from ford...

http://www.leftlanenews.com/ford-shows-lightweight-concept-car-cuts-fusion-weight-by-25-percent.html

Ford has revealed a 'Lightweight Concept' vehicle that demonstrates the potential for further weight reduction throughout the company's model lineup.

The idea builds upon the weight-saving engineering that has been introduced for the 2015 F-150 pickup, which sheds up to 700 pounds thanks to aluminum body panels and a redesigned steel frame.

Engineers were able to reduce the weight of a 2013 Fusion by more than 25 percent, slashing approximately 900 lbs from the overall build. For comparison, the lightweight concept weighs the same as a production Fiesta hatchback.
